Each house is probably old newspapers. At best, they are used as wrapper or litter during repair. They attracted me as a material for the homemade outdoor vase "newspaper slide." There are alpine slides. So why not be newspaper.
I chose a piece of old wallpaper material for the template.
Of these, the cone rolled a height of about 60 cm.
It will be the beginning of the colors stand.
The template is wrapped with a newspaper and sample the contact line with a wallpaper glue or PVA.
Then, when the first layer of newspapers will dry with small segments of newspapers on it. I basically walked with slices of A5 format.
Each subsequent layer passes after complete drying of the previous one. The work is very not fast and painstaking. It is necessary to glue the layers until the workpieces are solid and durable.
For my idea, the blanks required six pieces.
Billets for the base at first glued together.
Then the places of contact was punctured by several layers of the newspaper. The load was planned substantial.
Separate billets glued into a single monolith.
Of the three elements, it turned out a very sustainable and durable basis.
The top nests I cut a little. Approximately the diameter of flower pots.
That's how the newspaper hill it turned out. If you use it in this form, then you need to scroll through the entire design of the lacquer. This is necessary both from the inside and outside. But there may be other design options. Newspaper material is a very compliant basis. It is easy to salary appliqué, paint, coloring. There may be more complex decoupage techniques or even salt dough. In general, everything is in the hands of the self-drain.
- Options for decorating a newspaper slide can be a lot. One of them in front of you. Probably averaged method. However, the result turned out with some highlight.
Decoration shift start with sticking. It is necessary to make the surface embossed. For this I used Paper towels.
Glue on PVA. So that the towels lay exactly, gave glue a little silent.
That's how the slide began to look after the pasting.
Now the surface has become patterned-embossed as embossing on paper towels. In order to secure and strengthen this embossing, I used a special soil. In proportion 1: 1 spread the pva with water, added.
Dye (in this case it is gouache) and ordinary wheat flour. As a result, it turned out a color dough as a consistency of a bit curly than for pancakes. As a tampon, I used the foam rubber.
This tampone needs not to paint, but stamping. Then the primer adds the depth of the relief.
So the primed slide looks like. I didn't specifically decorate the inner part so as not to forget what this stand is made.
The next step was to apply paint. I painted with white water-emulsion. To apply paint, you need to barely touching the surface.
The result was such a spotted surface.
At the end, just as barely touching the surface, covered the slide of silver (it would be possible to apply bronze).
And finally, the promised raisin - depending on the lighting, this slide changes color. It turned out a sort of newspaper chameleon. It can be seen if you compare the first and last photos. Probably, if the effect of various shades is primed, the effect would be even more noticeable. In general, the prospect for creativity is more than enough.
