I will tell you how I had a pillow "Apples" so that you could connect our - the only and unique - pillow in the technique of volumetric knitting.
Attention! This publication is primarily intended for craftsmen who are pretty freely feel in knitting and are not afraid to go out in independent swimming. Here there will be no accurate description of the work calculated before each loop (column).
It is rather a guide to action: it is very difficult to repeat just such a pillow. And is it worth it? Take advantage of my advice and create your beauty!

Materials:
1. Yarn of the desired color. It is desirable that the thread does not fall into separate fibers, otherwise it will be more difficult to knit, and all the flaws will be noticeable. And here to take wool, acrylic, mixture yarn or something else - exclusively your choice.
The thickness of the yarn depends first of all from the number of the hook that you will knit. You can experiment with yarn, and hooks of different numbers. To avoid surprises in the mating process, tie a few samples.
Consider: the thicker will be the selected yarn, the more dense and hard will be the canvas. And vice versa: the thinner of the yarn, the more the cushion will seem.
You can use different parts of the pillow in the thickness and texture of the yarn. But the discrepancy in thickness should not be very large, otherwise the drawing on the pillow "will go", it will be stopped, it will be wrinkled, it will look ugly.
Very fluffy yarn with a long pile (for example, mohair) is not recommended. You simply hide behind the vice of all the beauty of the volume knitting.
2. I used the hook №2.5. You can take any other hook number and pick up the appropriate yarn to it.
Stages of work:
1. Pillow sizes
Decide for yourself, the pillow of what size you want in the end to get (in centimeters).
Important moment! File mesh knit smaller size (approximately 5 - 10%) than the intended pillow. When you will knit the columns with Nakad on the filleic grid (the messenger itself), the grid will begin to stretch, distribute all directions. In which volume it will occur, it is impossible to determine exactly - it all depends on the thickness of the yarn used.

Knit chain of air loops of the desired length (taking into account paragraph No. 1). And then according to the scheme.
For a fillet grid, a gray yarn is fits well. This is a neutral background, which then will not "conflict" with yarn of any color.

The principle of volumetric knitting is simple: the columns with Nakuda knit on the fillet grid. 1 section of the mesh (1 side of the square) = 4 Stage with Nakud. If the pattern (pattern) is geometric, repeated, then the columns will fit in a certain sequence. For example, so: see the scheme below. Thus, the entire space is filled, or in accordance with the pattern, the lumens are left (that is, for some kind of lines, there are no columns).
In fact, the sequence of tolls with an attribute can be different. Especially if you do not have a repeating pattern-rapport, but some kind of asymmetrical subject (for example, an apple).
Usually, the vertical walls from the columns with Nakud are not connected. In any case, I did not meet this option. And I decided to experiment. And contribute to the piggy bank of knitting secrets. ?
5. Work sequence (volume knitting)
Stumps I knit without a strict sequence. The main thing is that all lines are filled. It is very funny: knitting resembled some kind of children's puzzle, where you need to go from point A to point B and at the same time to circle all the lines.
My innovation: I joined the vertical walls from the columns with Nakad. In every corner. I repeat: You may have done so before, but I did not see this option. If someone has seen, send photos in the comments, it will be interesting to see!
I did this:
1 - take a hook from the loop; 2 - We enter the hook into the angular loop of the square with which we will connect the left loop; 3 - Capture a crochet left loop, tighten the thread (so that the loop is not too big); 4 - stretch the left loop through the angular loop of the square. You can knit the next wall of 4 columns with Nakud.
I began to knit from the middle of a yellow apple, calculating the pattern scheme, in which square I need to start and in which direction to move. The way I knitted with a very large stretch can be called "in a circle."

In fact, I knit in mind, or rather, as I wanted at this moment. Of course, a few steps forward, I still counted my "route" so that there were no empty lines to which you can't get it possible.
For convenience, I painted in the pattern schema, which were already filled with columns.
That's how it looked.
Gradually, the apple has grown. Start growing the second apple.
Why is there so many "tailings" from yarn? Because after all, sometimes I went to a dead end (it was not necessary to knite further). In most cases, this happened because of my inattention and laziness. In this case, I fastened and cut off the thread, leaving a big tail. Nearby I was fixed a new thread, 4 loops of the lifting (air loop) were tied, joined this chain of air loops with a neighboring wall, then he tied 3 columns with Nakid - and then according to the scheme.
Attention! In the process of mating, I realized that it is not necessary to strictly stick to the drawing. I painted him myself, I can change it!
Therefore, do not be surprised that the final knitted apples differ from the originally drawn. Creation!

At this stage (it would seem concluding), I realized that it was necessary to add green leaf on my left.

After small reflections, I decided not to leave the gray background "naked", that is, without volume knitting. I took gray yarn (a little lighter by tone than the background) and filled out all the remaining space. Yes, it took some time! ?

In my opinion, so better. And now the canvas fell smoothly, nothing else is pulling anything. But the canvas itself eventually increased in size.

All "tails" I hid the crochet along the lines from the wrong side. According to the rules, the "tails" should leave long, and then each "tail" to fill in a needle and stretch the thread along the lines. But it is so long ... I do it all with a crochet. It turns out neatly.
I decided to make Oxford pillowcase - with a wide flat border around the product perimeter.

Kaima is connected by columns without Nakid. In each angular point, the additions are made (3 columns without a nakid in one loop of the previous row). Two sides of Kaima are associated with gray yarn, two sides of orange and red yarn.
The next stage: I sewed the pillowcase base of dense greenish-gray fabric. The pillow is inappropriate, the color is deaf, the knitted part is harmony.
Attention! It is necessary to carefully choose the color of the background pillowcase, because through the holes of the fillet grid everything can be seen! If you take a bright fabric (yes, even with a pattern), the background can distract from the contigled picture or even completely "score" it.
Filled the pillowcase with the basis of syntheps. Seed buttons. And - the last step - seeded to the pillowcase, the knitted part. Not for the kaim! Kaima remained free.

Volumented knitting with all its massiveness, the thickness is still a holey, one can say, openwork. It turns out a very interesting effect: the warm thing, solid, solid, and at the same time gentle, lace. Volume knitting in my version resembles cells. Unfortunately, the photo does not transmit this effect in its entirety. In life, such a pillow immediately want to press to myself, go back! ?
