I recently broke my head on how to sew a bag with a cartoon picture. And you didn't really want to print on the fabric - it was necessary sew The background, but not much straining.
We had bought applications of the heroes from the cartoon "cars". The son decided that the bag should be with a master. Chose a picture from the second series "Tacchk" Madre in Tokyo.
For a picture, I needed tracing and patchwork tissue.
At first I drew a picture and painted to understand, what color is it better to sew and where to place the application.
Then we divided the background to the vertical stripes, turned the image and translated into a separate piece of carting each strip.
Now you need to sew your patchworks to each piece of tracing. The flap need to be attached to the wrong side face out and scribble along the drawn line. Then delay the edge by retreating 5 mm.
If there are a lot of colors, sewing alternately.
Rounded details I sewed. Just bending the flap, as if this glass in the drawn house was so inserted.
Then you need to cut all fragments and endure, and then sew each other. But Paper until you delete.
From the wrong side there are many seams and paper :) Suts, then I fished in one way.
Then the remaining elements of the pictures are for this fragment: borders and the road, and only after that you can remove the paper.
As a result, it turns out a bright, reliable, unstainable, non-refined picture. It remains to glue an applique and set to reliability.
