The names of this technique have a lot: partial knitting, shortened rows, swing, but the essence is one - each color area fit separately and gets involved in a common web without seams.
This technique, although it looks difficult, is actually quite simple. I knit, not counting the loop of the grain and additives, I have colored areas as a hand fall, but, first, to understand the principle, let's make a sample with the score.
We will need multicolored globes and loops markers. You can, of course, buy ready, but I did not like it - very thick, druit from the spokes and interfere with normal knitting. Therefore, I have invented a method using dog rubber bands. Do not be afraid :))), these are conventional latex gums for dog jugs. Sold in any pet store. They do not bother to keep the needles and easily throw away from one knitting needles to another.
We take one color as the basis (then without it), I will have it dark blue. The basis of knit facial stroy, and colored sections with a handful pattern. Red dots on the diagram marked elastic markers.

We repeat 2 and 3 rows until we remove all markers.

Thus, knit further color areas. We have them to taste. Length and height of colored areas can be changed as you like.
With this method of rotation, holes remain. Personally, I like them, you can beat them with lacing.
But if you do not want holes, the turn is carried out like this: work turn on the right back to make 1 nakid, and with further checking the following inextricant row to check up to the 1st of the Nakid, to translate to the auxiliary needle, to remove the next loop to stretch before loop. Then the nakid from the auxiliary needles to translate to the left needle and removed the loop to return to the left needle. This loop and nakida to stick together with an invalid.
