Very long ago, when I still studied in the fourth grade of high school, the author says, I was presented with an interesting book "Needlework at school".
Author - A.Ya.Mulgi, Teacher of housekeeping in one of the schools of Tallinn. There was a lot of useful information in the book, but several pages struck me: here the Estonian folk knitting "Vickel" was described.
In principle, everything is simple, the usual movement of the loops. But in the end, it turns out a dense cloth of an interesting texture. Of course, then, many years ago, I tried to knit "Vickel", but it turned out that such an equipment requires much attention, a good spatial imagination and non-real patience. One incorrectly awesome loop "broke" the whole picture. But if everything turned out, how rhythmically beautiful pattern was obtained.
Very strange, but it was not possible to find any complete information about this form of knitting. The definition of the concept is found on the Internet: "Vickel is an old Estonian knitting technique based on the movement of the loops." In addition, "Vickel" is referred to as a special admission of knitting, which can be used in different patterns: "Reception of the displacement of the loops (in the Baltic States," Vickel ") is used when performing harnesses and other complex patterns". Removing from two to four loops (as The rule is rearranged a clear number of loops) does not cause difficulties.
If you need to swap six or more loops, then you use a short additional needle. In this case, we are talking about ordinary harnesses that fit the loop moving.
However, Classic Wickel is thinner and can even be said aristocratic. With this mating you can make a beautiful pigtail around the top of the sock, cuff or collar, decorate the Aran knitting.
The pigtail of two colors fit as follows. We believe that loops for mittens or socks are already scored and connected two or more rows with a basic color. The pigtail fit into two rows. Both threads before work.
1 row: knit the wrong loop in one color, the following knit in the second color. Repeat in turn, while twisting the threads in one direction, for example, up.
2 row: colors have each other (so that they coincide). Knit an invalous loop first color, the second loop with an invented second color. At the same time, the yield of the thread should go in the opposite direction to the first row. If in the first row, the yarns of the thread went up, then in the second row - down.
Similarly knives a pigtail of three colors. It is impractical to take more colors, it looks very beautiful. At first, it may turn out to be pulled, but with practice you can achieve uniform knitting.
The inclusion of different colors of yarn into knitting makes it possible to get an extraordinary jacquard.
Another paradox: It seems to be in the world wide web, you can all anything, but it turns out that there are enough illustrations of the illustrations to recalculate their number. I do not want to believe that such a beautiful pattern (I mean a solid canvas, and not the use of reception in some pattern) will remain on the periphery of needlework creativity.
