On the creations of Eric Standley, you can watch infinitely. Volumetric, stunningly complex, almost incomprehensible.

Eric Standli:

And who would have thought that initially was just a layer of multicolored cardboard imposed one on another. All magic lies in the finest pattern caused by a laser for each of them.

Eric Standli:

It is quite difficult to understand how it is made by these surprisingly fragile patterns. Therefore, we asked to tell about the details of Erico.

Territory of comfort: Eric, how did the idea of "draw" arose with a laser?

Eric Standli: In 2005, I worked on a series of works under the general name "Am Wisdom". Its design was founded on a laser patterns in the form of circles. Once I left the laboratory in the evening, where he worked all day with a laser installation, and two pieces of cardboard with laser cutting were hit. I tried to apply one trim to another and - measure! The ornaments cut out with a laser were left on the other, and in the end unexpectedly it turned out the third one. I instantly grabbed my album for sketches, recorded a dozen questions, to search for answers to which years needed ...

Eric Standli:

Thu.: What inspires you to these fabulous patterns?

E.S.: At one time he studied the Gothic and Islamic types of architecture and ornaments. Movement of an infinite pattern, prospects - fascinate me. Geometry and Flight Flight are intersecting and give birth to truly magic effect. Once someone called my work "unearthly." I am very grateful for this definition - now it helps me to constantly work on the expansion of its own opportunities in art.

Thu.: How much time is the creation of another masterpiece?

ES: any of the work requires months of painstaking labor. I just finished my new project called Dewi SRI. Manufacturing took ten months. And this is just the stage of drawing. Working with a laser took another eighty hours. Then I modified the whole composition for a week.

Thu.: Do you have a dream?

E.S.: The artists belong to the world, which in itself allows to embody the ideas and dreams of life. It all depends only on whether you believe in your dreams, and if so, how much is strong. When, finally, my multi-monthly work is completed - I become the first witness to the incarnate dream. I look at all this fragile beauty and feel how little I understand in the very source of my inspiration, which served as the initial impetus for me. And I would like to travel more and attend these amazing places to feel all the beauty without intermediaries, which gradually becomes also part of my work.
