It happens that in a hurry you can inactively jerk the door of the locker, so that the loop is escaping. If the furniture is made of MDF or chipboard, then it is usually necessary to move the loop to a new place, since the painted area remains on the old one, so it is no longer possible to attach the self-draws.
However, there is a reliable method for recovering the elbow surface, which few people know about.
Required tools and materials
From the tools you need a small brush, a spatula and screwdriver. Materials will need:
- PVA glue;
- Wood dust;
- sawdust.
Recovery process
First you need to lubricate the door in the place of damage to the tassel with the pva glue. This is a kind of primer that increases the adhesion of the restoring layer. After you need to prepare putty. It is done by mixing PVA, wood dust and sawdust.
In the absence of the last two components, they can be easily done in a couple of minutes. To do this, you will need to take any dry wooden plank. When it saws the manual hacking, the sawdust of the desired fraction will be obtained. If we grind the wood with a skin or file, then you can make wood dust. The ratio of sawdust and dust should be approximately the same, the adhesive is added in such a quantity so that there is a pasty thick mass.
A well-smeared putty spatula is applied to the bottom of the door. You need to try to indulge to provide good sticking. After the putty, you need to wait for drying.
About a day or more, which depends on the feature of glue and the surrounding temperature, the surface fully solids. At the same time, the putty will give a strong shrinkage, so the recess will appear. To remove it take a re-putty. It is done only from a mixture of PVA and wood dust. It will be a finishing layer, so you need to act more carefully. The mass is also pressed by a spatula. Such a putty is made of small particles, so it will not give such a big shrinkage.
After final drying is the loop. The new surface allows you to spin the screw without prior scratching. Of course, the fastener should not be tightened so as not to pull out.
This method of repairing the torn doors allows you to do everything very reliable. As for the unsightly restored surface, it is not so critical, because it is hidden inside the locker. If you wish, you can always paint the spot from a putty suitable in color with a wax pencil for drawing to improve the appearance slightly.
