Most compatriots for flooring in their home uses old-kind linoleum. Material tested by time. Despite all its positive qualities, the linoleum is torn. Important: In order to cope with almost any kind of damage to linoleum in the house, you need a set of suitable tools. He is not too big. Be sure to have the reserve of the linoleum itself, a metal or wooden bar for smooth cutting of the material, a sharp knife, a syringe for glue, a shpartzel, a construction hairdryer, as well as consumables for surface preparation (glue, rosin, mastic, primer, etc.).
1. Remove the waves on linoleum
Waves that went on floor coverings are one of the most common problems. The benefit of it is not so difficult to solve it, as it may seem at first glance. Most often, this happens, if during the installation of the material was not met the technical gap for the plinth. Waves are removed using neat cuts from two sides along the entire "swelling" of the material. It is necessary for the release of air. After this, the glue is poured with a syringe into the holes, and the edges are joined using painting scotch.
2. Docking seams
Very often, when the linoleum is covered for connecting two cloths, the cold welding method is used. And anything, if the seams between the canvases were not periodically dispelled. In order to solve such a problem, it is enough to first pull the blade of the pectorist of 5 mm. After that, the in the middle of the resulting a bug is made, which captures two edges. Surplus coating are removed, the edges are degreased and cleaned. After that, the material will only be connected to glue.
IMPORTANT: Operation of this kind is used only with applying a strip for alignment!
3. Remove the hole from the coal
The only adequate way to solve the problem with damage to this kind is to install a patch. The easiest way (and best), if it is the right geometric shape. The optimal choice is a square. It will be the most difficult way to choose the appropriate material and make the texture of linoleum on the floor and patchwork at least somehow agreed.
4. Remove the torn holes
There is nothing difficult in removing the torn hole. Eliminate damage you can or install a patch, or simple gluing if the edges at the place of defect are more or less smooth. Most often it requires only glue. However, even with the smallest ripped holes, degreasing and stripping material is recommended.
Note: The smallest torn holes can be eliminated using one mastic alone.
5. Eliminate scuffs
Finally, every linoleum over time appears scratching, scratches and other small surface damage. They are eliminated using the already mentioned mastic, polyteroli or special wax. The most important thing in this event is to choose the material suitable for the color of the coating.
