How is it better to calculate the number of loops before starting knitting so as not to get too small or too much thing? How to pick up the faer number of loops and knit immediately the desired size, and not to dissolve and not to bandage later. I am sure that every needlewoman asked, especially the needleman-novice asked.
For example, I, going to knit anything, gained a loop using the most common calculation methods that found in most articles dedicated to knitting.
So, at first I knit a sample of 10x10 cm, washing, dried it, just as it would be assumed to wash and dry the finished product. Then I measured how many loops / rows are obtained in 1 cm sample and calculated, based on this data, how many loops need to type, for example, for a product width of 55 cm.
Honestly say that sometimes I could calculate the right amount of loops - for the scarf, this method is ideal! But when I was going to knit a hat, a sweater, a cardigan, that's where the fun one began.
Most often it was found that I was or scored too many loops and knitting on a giant, or clearly knit "minus Size." I dismissed the knitting, I started again, the number of loops changed. This song is good - start first!
And how it is a pity to dissolve the beauty that has already created. You certainly understand me now.
And once, hoping a loop before starting knitting caps, I got carried away by calculations. And unexpectedly found a method for calculating the loops, which I use now when knitting not only the caps, but also when knitting sweaters, jumpers ... and I can say that this method did not let me down. True, never. I think I am typing loops and yes! I knit the right size immediately!
That's what I'm doing now:
1. I knit a small sample (10x10 or even less).
2. Dealer counting how many loops are contained in 1 cm, and further, for example, in 5 cm.
3. What comes from the obtained numbers, with the help of the proportion, I calculate how many loops I need to dial, for example, for operation 55 cm wide. I get 2 values.
4. Next, I also count how many loops are also contained in 1 cm and 5 cm. But no longer just measuring the line of the sample, but I stretch it a little, just like the finished product will be worn. After all, the hat must still tighten his head a little. The sweater we wear freely, but a small tension of the threads is still present when we put the thing on ourselves.
I note that it is important not to overdo it, you do not need to stretch the thing much! I always imagine how the threads of the product will be stretched when the product is wearing a person.
5. Now, based on the new values obtained, again using the proportion, I calculate how many loops need to be dialing, for example, for operation 55 cm wide. 2 I have 2 values.
6. And then I consider the average arithmetic value between the 4 values obtained.
(110 + 99 + 83 + 77): 4 = 92 p.
7. The resulting number slightly adjust: for example, 92 p. + 2 edges.
This way I use me. Probably, it will seem too cumbersome, too much to consider too much. But I can say that he never let me down. I spend no more than 10 minutes, for sure, for calculations, but I knit immediately, without offensive, and, by the way, for more than a long time alterations.
