Restore the lid of the gas stove

Anonim

It has long wanted to make a decoupage of the lid of the gas stove. But everything somehow delayed for later, since it was not confident in his "decaptentional" abilities, especially on metal surfaces.

Hour "X" has come when the condition of the cover of the slab has become critical - the rusted strips were visible. If you consider that the stove is only a week without a year, then you will understand my condition.

In general, Eh, was not, decided!

To work, I needed such materials and tools:

    Sleep paper

    Acrylic primer

    Acrylic white paint

    Acrylic Blue Paint / Blue

    Slippet.

    PVA glue

Brush Construction for paint and brush for glue

    acrylic lacquer

The whole process took place in the kitchen

Decoupage of the metal surface - Restoration of the cover of the gas stove

Everything is very simple and quickly (if you do not take into account the drying time)

Remove the cover with the loops, wash, dried, we clean all the "suspicious places" squeak. And this is rusty cracks. After all manipulations again, my lid and thoroughly dry.

I was interested only in the inner side of the lid (abrasive care products, apparently, made no enamel coating plate and as a result - rusty trace trails appeared) - she will decapitate it. Finding a few layers of primer. I do this in order that the rust does not appear on the finished product. The number of layers depends on the fortress of your nervous system and the degree of damage to the coating. I applied 3 layers.

Then there were 2 layers of acrylic white paint with a conventional large building brush, and the third - sponge of the washcloth. I remind you that each layer should be dried at least 12 hours. In any case, I do that.

In the meantime, decoupage motives prepared - I have a picture of Gzhel. Such a drawing simply perfectly approached the kitchen tile on the walls.

Loosened a napkin. I usually cut out the drawings with manicure scissors, but in this case I had to gently "pull up" the motives of the nails (good, was what). Long, but the track after sticking the napkin is not visible.

And now I will reveal a small secret. Before sticking the motives, I opened the cover with a layer of acrylic varnish. And did not regret! The napkin stuck amazingly!

In general, - with the help of PVA glue, diluted with water 1 to 1, glued the motifs to the lid of the gas stove with a thin brush.

It seems to be the main part over, it is time to move to the final part - to apply varnish. But something I did not give rest. And I understood. White paint color. It was the color of baked milk, vanilla ... anything, but not a dazzling and white with a blue pull, which I needed.

I had to change a little, namely - to white paint add a bit blue. Remember how the ceilings did you feel better?

In general, from this area (paints need a little bit). The fourth and fifth layers applied to a sponge of white and blue paint, on 5 mm capturing the edges of the napkin motifs.

And only after all the above-described manipulations and good drying of the lid, I could finally apply acrylic varnish. How many layers caused? Honestly confess - I do not remember exactly, but not less than 6. Still, the lid from the gas stove is often dirty ...

After thorough drying, the lid was restored to the previous place.

Outcome? Honestly, I don't see.
