The idea of embroidery on an umbrella came to me when I participated in the competition for the unusual use of embroidery, organized by the magazine "embroider with a cross."
Today I would like to tell more detail about how I did it, with what difficulties I encountered, and in general, how to embroider on an umbrella!
To make embroidery on an umbrella, you will need the following materials:
1. Umbrella.
2. Water-soluble canvas (I had Gamma firms).
3. Embroidery needles.
4. Threads for sewing (polyester).
5. Threads for embroidery Madeira "Decora" (viscose).
6. Scissors.
7. Scheme for embroidery (you can choose any plot you like).
8. Falls.
At the beginning of work, I decided to disassemble an umbrella, cutting off the threads that fasten the needles.
But: You can try to embroider and without the parsing of the umbrella!
If you decide to disassemble an umbrella, then leave all the threads in place so that it was easier to collect an umbrella:
Next you need to wash and stroke an umbrella.
After all this, select one segment on which you want to embroider, and notify this place a water-soluble canva, fuel into the hoop and proceed to embroidery.
For embroidery, I chose the Hummingbird Bird. You can choose any plot. You can make embroidery not only on one segment, but also on each or after one. You will need more water-soluble canvas.
Embroidery is better to perform threads from viscose or polyester. I chose Madeira's Threads "Decora" (Viscose), as well as ordinary sewing threads from polyester.
In the process of embroidery, you may encounter difficulties. When working with the needle, you need to make certain efforts and threads from the viscose often harvest.
I went to the embroidery about five days.
After all the work done, we will write aims and soak the embroidered part of the umbrella in soapy water (40 degrees) for 5 minutes. Water soluble canvas should dissolve everything.
Now proceed to tensioning the umbrella.
For me, the process of pulling the attachment of the tissue to the knitting needles was no less labor-intensive than the embroidery process itself. But the result is worth it!
Assembly umbrella is better to carry out several people. Therefore, call for the help of relatives and friends :)
