We have already told how to weave a basket from newspaper tubes, and in this master class we suggest try to make a basket of veneer strips.

When weaving baskets, the sizes can be varied by selecting them under their needs. The same technology can be used when working with bark and even with color cardboard.

How to rinse a basket from veneer do it yourself
Place the veneer in warm water for about an hour. Touch it to glasses excess water.
When there is no visible moisture on the surface of the veneer, make the strips of the same length. The length of the spikelet and their quantity will depend on the size of the basket.
Important: The number of horizontal and vertical strips must necessarily be odd.
We used a 7 × 7 strip circuit. The length of the veneer strips depends on the height of the basket side. The principle "Better is better than the undecker". Take half of the harvested strips and decompose them on the table by fixing the scotch or pressing the heavy book. Try to present a square that is formed if you put horizontal on top of the vertical strips. Scotch strips should be located along the parties of the imaginary square.
Inspove the first horizontal veneer strip. Every strip is woven so that her edges bend to you.
Inspove the next strip using the classic weaving scheme (if the previous horizontal strip is laid on top of the vertical, the next must go under it).
While inlet of all horizontal veneer strips, you should have a square in the central part.
Check which way it is better to bend veneer. In one direction, it can bend, forming a smooth bending, and when the other side can be in the other side, the veneer can be lazy.
Turn over the workpiece so that when the strips bend, the veneer should not be laughed. Generate all strips on the edges of a wicker square using a metal ruler.
Align strips along one of the sides of the square and stick the long strip of the veneer. The length should be such that the veneer was enough for all four walls of our basket. Do not forget about the classic scheme of weaving, and make sure that the long strip is well bent into your direction.
In the same way, two more veneer strips are inserted.
Generate all three strips along the intersection line with the last of the vertical bands in which they are woven.
Inclosure three long stripes along the next side of the square. Special attention is paid to the corners.
Repeat the same operations with stripes along the third and fourth sides of the square.
Cut the residues of the bands, woven in the walls of the basket from the veneer, leaving the reserve about 5 cm. Interstate the left parts of the bands into the wall, which was selected first.
Basket made of veneer takes shape. At this stage, you can need a few more strips in the walls to achieve their desired height.
Important: After weaving the walls, there should be approximately 7 cm strips from which the bottom of the baskets. Free ends later will need to bend and dug inside the baskets.
Bend vertical strips that have passed on top of the last horizontal strip, inside the baskets, pass them on the third horizontal strip. To simplify the task, the vertical bands can be pre-trigged to the desired length.
Do this operation with all the outer vertical stripes. Thus, half the strips will remain not woven. Inside the basket, around the perimeter of the last woven strip, fix another segment of the veneer. This strip can be fixed with clothespins.
Bend all the remaining vertical strips on top of the rigs fixed by cloves and stick them under the second above horizontal veneer strip.
Cut the vertical stripes to the desired length so that they are not sticking out from under horizontal.
By the same technology, you can make baskets of veneer size, for example, 5 × 5 or 9 × 9 strips. We think you will immediately find them worthy use
