"... I don't see the point ...", "... would be better than the eyes ...", "... For what such torments, you can buy a thin cotton yarn ..." - such a recruitment set got my Roller about knitting from sewing thread. But comments with admiration and inspiration was certainly more.
Let me tell why I sometimes knit from the sewing thread and show my work. If the article is useful for you - leave the reaction or comment!
The first work of the thread was the openwork hook umbrella, which I tied in 2014. In those days, I was very fond of knitting umbrellas
I knitted sewing threads purchased in Leonardo. They were without any numbers (I was often asked what a number of threads was, but I think the rooms only have cotton threads). The composition of polyester. I bought 5 shades: from white with a purple tide to a dark violet. Each color is 5 coils. Knitted in 5 threads, crochet 1.5 and gradually changed the color to get a gradient
How it looked. I started from the first color, knitted some rows into 5 threads (everything depends on the number of rows in the diagram and the number of colors, if I correctly remember I knit 5 rows). Then changed one thread on the second color. Total 4 threads color first + 1 thread color second. In the next row, the first color was removed and added the second. Total for five rows I completely changed all the threads on the color of the second. The next row began to change on the third color. Etc.
As a result, a very smooth transition of color is obtained, there is a feeling that just so painted the canvas is ready.
And now the question. Can I achieve this when knitting thin cotton? Unless to look for a bobbin yarn with a fear of a couple of thousand meters per 100 grams. But will there be such a wide palette in a bottle yarn like sewing threads? The answer is obvious
I note that knitting in 4-5 threads is quite comfortable for the hook 1.5-2mm
The next job was a wedding openwork umbrella, which I knitted to order for the bride. Together with her, we chose the range, quite bright. She wanted a juicy, an accent umbrella for spring marriage.
There were also 5 colors and knitting in 5 additions, but already on the hook 2
In 2016, I took part in the knitted marathon in instagram. For the qualifying stage, I wanted to do something unusual. And here again came to the revenue sewing threads
I tied two covers on plastic jars, thus decorated them. Used the hook 1 and 4 threads, and openwork kaima in 2 crochet yarn 0.75

The next work (again within the framework of the knitting marathon) was the beach outfit for the Barbi-Swimsuit and Tunic doll. I can safely say - this is my most jewelry work.
And here, of course, it was not knitting for nervous!
I knit 0.75 in two threads. It was not easy, painstaking, but so exciting! These tiny columns without Nakid seemed to be knitted by the whole eternity. BUT! What a gorgeous work came out, my daughter could not seem to the new outfit for the doll.
