We make a cutting board of plastic covers

Covers from plastic bottles can become excellent raw material for the manufacture of a cutting board. They are safe for human health, since they are made of HDPE plastic, i.e. high-pressure polyethylene (PVD).

Need

Plastic covers are better chop in advance. This will allow you to quickly melt the raw materials and make it homogeneous, which will improve the quality of the product.

The following tools and devices will be needed for work:

• Metal baking sheet;
• Wooden template with a slot;
• faulty hinged lock;
• Electric or gas oven;
• Two clamps on bolts;
• adjustable key;
• Hammer and screwdriver with flat sting;
• Abrasive bar, sandpaper, etc.

We fall asleep into the shape of chopped plastic covers, evenly distributing them all over the area, and sealing with their hands. At the same time, we draw attention to the corners and the zone around the castle.

On top of the plastic, try on a wooden pattern so that its hole accounted for the lock. Also several times press the template for sealing raw materials. Then remove it.

We place a baking sheet with the containers for a few minutes, preheated to 200-250 degrees in Celsius. As a result, raw materials melted, turning into a homogeneous fluid mass.

We return the form with the melt on the table and lay on top of a wooden pattern, lubricated along the contact plane by vegetable oil to prevent sticking.

We place a baking sheet with molten plastic and, covered with a template, between two clamps and begin to uniformly twist the nuts from the hand, then the adjustable key. Tightening the bolts of clamps to the redistribution, we leave the plastic to cool for several hours.

As soon as the plastic hardens, we spin and remove the clamps. In the slot between the walls of the shape and the template, I wake a sting of a screwdriver and disconnect them.

I pull out the template with the lock and sticking to them a solid plastic board, from the form. Separate with screwdriver wooden and plastic boards. Then, using a hammer, remove the lock from the hole in the plastic board.

There is a cutting board from plastic ready. It remains to be processed. Initially, abrasive bars remove the influx and burrs around the edges.

Further, alternately using the average and fine-grained sandpaper, moistened in the water, grind the board from all sides until it becomes smooth visually and the touch. At the end, we wipe the dry soft cloth and the cutting board is ready for operation.
