How to paint leather shoes at home

Tired of boring monotonous boots? Take advantage of this article on the coloring of things from pure skin. We will use the acrylic painting method. He is not too expensive and requires not much time.

The process will go in 3 steps:

1. We prepare shoes to paint, pre-delete the external coating with acetone.
2. Use acrylic paint for the skin.
3. We apply acrylic varnish to give the product of a matte shade and gloss.

Materials:

1. Acetone
2. Acrylic paint (in our case, an angelus brand was used)
3. Tupfer (cotton wand from a tampon)
4. Paper towels
5. High-quality blue adhesive tape
6. Brushes of various sizes
7. Footwear
8. If possible, acrylic varnish

Step 1: Cooking

Clean shoes.

We put places with a ribbon in those places where the paint will not be applied.

Acetone Remove the coating or polishing of shoes. And with the help of a storm and towels we clean all open areas. We continue the procedure with acetone and towels until the polishing is completely coming.

Step 2: Painting

Apply acrylic paint is very simple. When overlapping light tones on the dark surface of the shoes, you need to do several layers. In our case, 5 layers of white on black shoes were applied. With other colors it will be enough only 2-3 layers. After the overlay of each layer should be left for about 20 minutes to dry.

Gently remove the adhesive tape, as soon as you finish with the imposition of paint. Do not wait until the paint is completely dry. It is necessary for smoother edges. But it is not necessary to remitely remove the tape, otherwise the paint will flow.

After removing the tape, leave the shoes to dry.

Step 3: Lac

As soon as the shoes get dry, we apply acrylic varnish on the paint layer to give shoes more gloss.

We finished. Before putting the boots, you need to dry for the last time (for 24 hours).
