How to arrange a country interior, make premises lighter and spacious, while maintaining charm and garbage style? In our review - recommendations of designers and ideas for inspiration.
Country style as a unique phenomenon
The country style is a phenomenon, in essence, a unique, existing in the post-Soviet space. In some way it is rhyme with the style of the country or the style of Provence, which are traditionally used to design country houses on the other side of the ocean. But our domestic country-style has its own features. Not least they are dictated by the fact that the cottage, as a rule, is not the main place of residence. This "optional" summer house, built once, perhaps, with his own hands, can be transmitted from generation to generation, becoming not only a place of recreation, but also a peculiar "archive", which keeps the heritage of our grandparents, Dad and Mom. So it happened - and often it remains: the furniture, dishes, clothing, textiles are sent to the cottage, and textiles ... Dacha interiors are often eclectic - not due to the witty idea of the designer, but because "it happened." Fine, if, building a cottage "from scratch", you originally think over and consistently make it up with its interior. However, if your cottage is built not one decade ago, you can try to change and refresh its appearance with minimal time and strength.

- Spend a revision
Before bringing a new one to the interior, it is worth finding out what you are ready to get rid of. Arrange revision: say goodbye to furniture, not subject to repair and restoration, with morally or physically outdated textiles (curtains, bedspreads, pillows, rugs), with cracked dishes and so on. If you are not ready to change the interior dramatically, you should not be too strict: for example, do not throw away your favorite old armchair or sofa with a torn or sewn upholstery: you can try to update the furniture (most importantly, so that it remains comfortable and safe).
- Do not be afraid
The country's interior initially implies styles - try to play it, and not get rid of eclecticism. Moreover, on, as a rule, a small space of the house should be combined with different functional areas.
- Use natural materials
For registration, try to choose objects and decoration of wood and natural fabrics - cotton, flax. From plastic and synthetics it is better to refuse.
- Choose soft light
Bright direct lighting in the country is important primarily for the working area (whether it is a kitchen table, a corner for a needlework or mini-office). In other cases, a soft scattered light is preferable. Choose local light sources (flooring, table lamps, sconces), matte or tissue lamps, not too bright lamps. Let the lamps are not too bulky or "parade": giving extra light, they can visually clutch the room. For the design of the veranda or open balconies, garlands made of small light bulbs.

- Combine the interior color
Even the most eclectic interior will help "collect" and make harmonious use of color. Textiles are perfect for this. Sust, for example, curtains, bedspreads, pillowcases for decorative pillows made of one or well-combined fabrics. Old buffet, chest of drawers or other wooden furniture can be repainted.

- Visually expand the space
As a rule, the rooms of the country house are not too spacious, but the ceilings are not very high. To expand the space, use as a base of calm bright colors close to the natural range. Do not make walls and floors too dark or too bright, pins. Too a large amount of decor, items that are not hidden in the cabinets also make the room visually less.

- Use bright accents
