A few years ago, we got a verdict from builders about our basement: "It's easier to fit a bulldozer, bury and forget about it." But we went our own way and about what we've got it in the end, I will tell you in this article.
Almost a year ago, I shared the story of our basement, as we, despite the advice of builders, decided to make it and bring to mind, and not to bury and forget about it.
Whether we regretted in the end, and how about it is now? I share with you the past year and the work done during this period.
In the summer, we hired a company, and they installed warm floors throughout the house, including in the basement, because it should also be warm and dry.
Works were done quickly quickly, and we remained to put at least part of the floor with tile so that they would have the opportunity to install all the necessary equipment and level the walls.
It is in the basement that there is a boiler for heating around the house, filters for water purification, pump, and so on. Tile chose one of the most inexpensive, but good wear resistance. The photo shows that it was originally chosen dark, but we didn't like the result and the other was already installed, lighter.
Already later, we took up finishing work: to the end leveled and painted the walls, beautiful air valves were installed, the entire necessary electrician was performed, lamps, sockets, switches were installed.
We were so carried away that they even decided to make a plinth in the basement, because it is so more beautiful and the kind of more finished, although it was originally in our plans it was not.
Now our basement is the most complete and beautiful part of our house, it seems you can live in it. It is warm, light and clean. The works are not yet finished to the end, you need to install the second entrance door, for less heat loss, provide places to store dirty working things, racks, hangers, and just bother and bring order there.
Already now in the basement installed 4 racks for storing the necessary things and, since we are in the process of moving and repairing our new apartment, it turned out to be very useful. Now all the racks are busy things that we decided not to use the places, and the premises are busy with furniture, which is nowhere to put it, but we plan to establish it in this house in the near future, when the remaining finishing work on the house will be completed.
According to the result, I can say that we are very pleased that we did and use the basement until we are very convenient. In the future, we will make a comfort and order in it, most likely it will happen in the spring, we will continue to share with you our success.
