I have long wanted to try to sew a handbag :) I had a couple of brown skin pieces, just on a small bag grabbed. I decided to practice on them. But just a brown bag is so boring ... On the street Spring in full swing, everything blooms, fragrant, flies, flies, buzzing and sings! So you want joyful and bright colors. I wanted to decorate my handbag bright embroidered and beaded butterfly. And the creation process decided to share with you.
I will not give exact sizes to the bag itself, as this is not a fundamental question. Yes, and in the master class, I want to describe the process of decorating the handbag than its sewing. For I am not a major specialist in working with the skin, and on the tailoring of the bags too. It is possible that you want to decorate the finished factory bag. Such an option, it seems to me even easier.
But there are newants!
First: the bag should be on the lining that in the process of using the bag did not see the thread from the embroidery on the wrong one;
Secondly: this lining, at the time of decoration, it will be necessary to pour, since in this master class I suggest embroider the ellements of the decor right on the skin. At the end of work, the lining must be sewn again :)
So, we will need:
1. Ready handbag, natural or artificial leather.
2. Felt.
3. Transparent glue (I use a crystal moment).
4. Beads of several shades (I used the Japanese beads of Tho 15 sizes 9 shades).
5. Beads number 10 two to three shades close to the selected color range of the main, 15th beads.
6. Beads number 8.
7. Threads Muline or silk threads for embroidery, several close shades: from light to darker.
8. Metalized thread (Lurex) - 2 colors.
9. Glass rhinestones in the form of a drop - 10 pieces.
10. Glass faceted beads or rone 3-4 mm and 4-5 mm. I needed 32 pieces of several shades.
11. Rivoli: 12, 14 and 16 mm - 4 pieces.
12. Needles, threads, fishing line, scissors.
If I forgot something, I will complement along the way.
Let's start with the main element of our decor - butterflies!
We will embroider it separately on fetra. It is possible on any material familiar to you. I most like to embroider on the phlizelin glued into six layers. It does not stretch, not a fearful, unlike felt. On Flizelin, I usually draw a decoration contour, and then miss the transferred pattern with acrylic paints. Moreover, if the paper uses contrasting colors, as in our butterfly, I can figure out in different colors - in the color of the beads used for embroidery and threads (if there is an embroidery stitching). So clarity, where the color begins and ends. It is easier to observe symmetry. Yes, and the basis will be seen. When the paint dries, inject the contours of the decoration and you can embroider.
But for the master class decided to take a felt, it seems to me that it looks like aesthetic. But the felt I knew everything from the wrong side by adhesive flieselin. Thus, it lowered its extensibility.
We draw a pattern-stencil on paper and translate the drawing to the felt, accurately noting the place where rhinestones in the form of a drop will be located. Unlock rhinestones. If you like everything, glue them to felt.
Next, begin to embroider our butterfly. I start with the trimming of rhinestone beaded number 15, seam "back needle." We bring the needle on the front side, we recruit one or two beads, we take a needle on the wrong side and return exactly one beerink back. We pass with a needle in the first beerink again, we recruit another or two beads, we take a needle on the wrong one, we return to one beerink back and pass the needle into the last beerinka. Etc.
So we are wearing all our 10 rhinestones.
Next, begin to embroider the contour of the butterfly. We use beads number 15, in some places inserting beads number 8 (in the photo you can see where I passed the pearl-blue 8th beads, it is the largest). The contour is wearing a few bead colors, trying to make a smooth transition of shades. Since my butterfly wings near the abdomen red-brown, and at the edges of turquoise-blue-blue, then the beads take the corresponding shades.
Now proceed to filling the wings with embroidery smooth. I used threads Moulin, three blue shades and three red-brown.
We begin to embroider from the center of the butterfly, near the abdomen. First we lay a few guide stitches for a long 3-5 mm. Then we begin to fill the stitches in one direction. Threads take the brightest redhead.
The same operation is done on all four wings.
We take the thread of a darker shade and in the same way fill the space of the wings. We try to make stitches in one direction, tightly covering the fabric.
Next will be the darkest brown color.
Now came black blue threads. We start from the brightest shade, moving to the darker.
It has arrived a series of metaled threads of blue. I want to note that working with them is not the greatest pleasure. They are constantly smelling, robbed, confused. But with them the result, I like more, therefore suffer.
Fill in blue Lurex the remaining empty areas.
Now we will make the butterfly of the abdomen.
We remove the needle at the lowest point of the Babea abdomen. We recruit several brown bispers (I have seven them), and we deposit this bead chain to the center of the abdomen. Such bead chains need to do two pieces parallel to each other. At the bottom, we sew three more bispers so that a sharp tail turned out. Then, over two parallel bead chains, make arches from beads, gradually changing their number, from less to more and then on the contrary, to the decline. So the abdomen turns out a bulk, convex and beautiful. For example: in the first arch, I have 6 bisperin, in the second - 7, in the third - 8, in the fourth - 8, then again 7, etc., to the necessary length of the butterfly ass.
Making butterfly eyes. They can be made of two little beads. I took one bead prafal Preciosa, it is just suitable in shape and size. We sew it on the spot where the head should be, and lay the arch of several beads in the center of the beads of the porphale from several beads number 15. I hope the process is clear.
Now we make the top of the abdomen. She will be shaggy. For these purposes, you can use Sinel, fluffy threads. I had a shaggy braid.
And at the very end, add the beads butterfly on the shaggy tank and the butterfly wings.
All, our butterfly is ready!
Now cutting it as close as possible to the bee, but at the same time we try not to damage the threads that he sewed.
From this butterfly you can make a wonderful broach, hairpin, a pendant, there is still a lot of interesting things, but we will sew it on the bag, so we post it on the sideline.
Now, in fact, about the bag itself. As I mentioned, the detailed process of cutting and tailoring bags I will not describe, but I will stop only in general moments. At the fair there are very good master classes on the tailoring of the bags that the masters of this case did. In them, all sorts of subtleties and tricks of the process are competent and detail. So, it is better to study the sewing bags from specialists. And I am a dilettant in this matter and I also study, although with a sewing machine, I actually know how to sew a little. But shelted bag for the first time. So, do not scold much.
So, I painted the pattern and revealed two identical details of the skin, and the same details of the lining fabric. In one leather item I made a slit pocket on the zipper. The lining was decided to smoke phlizelin for reliability. Also, made a pocket on one of the lining details. Aged the filthy on leather items. Okrew, caught up with a hammer. Prepared straps for fastening a half-trailer.
Now expand our prepared home decor details on one of the leather parts.
In addition to the butterfly, I had a few rivoli. They could be glued and sewed straight on the skin, but I like to sew a more sewed rivoli. Master classes on the brave of rivoli different diameters a huge number and at the Fair of Masters and in the Global Network. I will not describe this process in detail.
At first I decided to decorate the bag with two butterflies, and in the photo they are present. But in the process came to the conclusion that there will be a bust and one butterfly I postponed.
Deciding with the location of the butterfly dislocation - we glue it to the skin with transparent glue. I have a moment of crystal.
You can take a break for tea until glue grabbing.
Now we will lay a butterfly. We will be sewed in the same way as and cubs the edge of the beadwork, but with a small nuance. In this case, the so-called, "American" edge processing method is suitable.
1. Tell the needle on the front side, we recruit two bispers of the 15th size.
2. We enter a needle in embroidery, immediately behind the contour beaded edge, right on against the second bead.
3. We remove the needle on the front side only through the skin, at the very edge of the embroidery, opposite the second beads and spend the needle through the second beading towards the embroidery.
Rates the distance equal to the 1st bead, we enter the needle immediately behind the contour beaded edge of embroidery. Pour again, only the skin from the inside on the front side of the edge of the embroidery itself, and stretch the needle into the last beerin and so on. In general, in the same way as the edge of the beads are "by the American way", only with the firmware of the skin layer.

So we are wearing the whole butterfly, alternating different colors of beads as well as neither embroidery contour of the butterfly.
The next stage is the mustache. Waughs will embroider with golden lurex, seam "chain". At the end of the mustache, we sew a bead.
Now sew rivoli in the frame. Beaded number 15 and faceted beads embroider around the rivoli spiral, as shown in the following photo, seam "Back Neck", one beerinka. Beads use the same as when embroidery butterflies, making flower transitions. On the outer twist of two of the spirals, before the last faceted beads, I sewed several beery number 10 so that the transition from the small bead to the beads was not so sharp.
We sew a second rivoli and embroider a spiral around it.
And one more rivoli with a spiral.
Why spirals? They are associated with the summer, holiday, fireworks and lollipops :) the weather, as they say, whispers.
There remained empty space to the left of the butterfly. It is filled with flower beads, brought through a faceted bead, grave beads and beads of the 15th and 10th size, sew in an arbitrary order.
So we finished decorating our handbag.
It remains to enter the zipper, sew all leather parts, lining parts and sew lining to the bag. We cling to trinkers - beads and ...
