For several years now, as I do a little by the insulation of my gardened house. And the thing is that when we built it, then the plans included staying at the cottage only in the warm season. But the more the garden surrounding the house became like a real garden, the more I wanted to stay in nature longer, to frosts, and even in the winter to be a little bit.
But my house is too light, a real summer cottage. On the high base of Booth, we set the team panel wooden garden house. Putting it in Polkirpich, not even in a brick. 10 years have passed and we insulated a little wall. Between the lining shields of the house and brick pair insulation and mineral wool "Eaulet" were laid. It became much warmer, despite the fact that the masonry of the brick turned out to be so poorly, that when we removed the lining of the inner skin, then the cement seams suddenly penetrated the bright sunny rays. It was ridiculous and sad - such a hack of us the builders snapped!
Here you go. We insulated the walls, but there were quite large gaps between the window frames and the walls. Therefore, the husband removed the platbands from the street and blew foam slots. But the most interesting thing was next.
The window frames walked with a house and included glazing into one glass. So it was done. But such windows carry too large heat losses. No matter how dry the gaps, and the same glass itself warmly protects badly. You could put the second frame. But, after reflection, another solution came.
I conceived to make double-glazed windows in old wooden frames. Options for the idea was two. The first is to add one more glass to the existing one, having rubbed with thin wooden strips, and then fasten the second glass, but most likely it is no longer a stroke, because the groove of the window frame is not enough, but in the cutting pad.
If you do everything with the use of silicone, it turns out a pretty sealed glass.
The second option was to book double glazed windows with a minimally possible gap between the glasses so that the package is placed in the existing groove frame.
The information on the site has encouraged. My preliminary calculations according to the rates of the plant were not so terrible. If you compare the price of one cheapest metal-plastic window and windows glazed by double glazed windows into the available frames, it turned out that the plastic is more expensive than at least 5 times!
On that and shaped. He took off the sizes from the old window frames (the benefit that they are well preserved, being protected by shutters) and sent them to the plant. I was all checked (my calculations were true), accepted the order and a week later all the glass packs were ready.
This is what glazed windows
Two glasses with a metal gasket, 6 mm wide, are hermetically connected-glued along the perimeter rubber. 6 millimeters is the minimum gap between the glasses. The thickness of each glass is 4 mm. Total two glasses of 4 mm plus gap 6 mm have a glass thickness 16 mm. That was exactly the groove under the glass on my frames.
For work, I needed the following tools and materials: a screwdriver, hammer, screws, screwdriver, a tube of transparent silicone and a gun for her. Silicone left quite a lot, approximately one tube on one window.
Then I took out old strokes
They held just on cloves, so it was very easy to do with a simple flat slot screwdriver.
After the release of the window frame from the stroke, the glass was very easy to remove. This is how the frame looked without glasses.
Then, a little cleaned the freed groin, with a "sausage" of silicone into it.
I invested the glass on this "sausage". It must be said that Silicone speaks very well and rehearse in the frame even without additional consolidation.
Then the prepared planks went into advance. They had to replace the traditional strokes in such cases fixing the glass in the frame. Previously, I am their Okaril (the blessing of the shlifmashinka is simple, - it makes it easier to work), then I soaked the azure for a tree and wrinkled under the desired size. I also helped to saw me - the son presented an electronics for his birthday :) Without it, I would have to mess around much longer, and even forces to attach more.

The next step was to apply silicone directly to the perimeter of the glass unit.
And on top consolidated "into the lining" prepared planks.

My windows are inserted on the contrary to be opened inward, because we have shutters outside. Therefore, I have a chappika from the outside of the frames and look like this
The effect of the work done did not slow down to affect. The house has become very quiet, the sounds from the street are practically not heard. And before, I could not put my grandson, it was all heard.
A few days later the cyclone came, he was very cold and a very strong wind rose. Before in such cases, the curtains on the windows were walked. And now - full calm. I am very pleased with the work done. And saved funds.
