I took a pipe with a diameter of 100 mm and a length of one meter (tip: It is better to find a pipe from white plastic, not gray). The flange suitable on the diameter is still needed from which the base of the lamp can be made - they are sold at any shopping store selling plumbing. Next, I did simply: I took a pure polystyrene tray for packaging food and pressed the flange on it - the perfect circle turned out. In the same way, it squeezed in it a hole in the center of the cartridge from the light bulb. Inserted the cartridge and fixed it with a thermoclaim. And then - also a thermoclaim - secured the circle with the cartridge inside the flange. The base is ready!
The power wire was allowed at the bottom of the pipe. Made for this at a distance of 15 -20 mm from the end hole (the diameter of the drill must correspond to the external cross section of the wire) and drank the groove from the hole. Such a solution makes it easy to remove the tube- "lampshade" from the base to replace the light bulb or cleaning.
By the way, about the source of light. Incandescent lamps are not suitable here: they are tangible and easily can melt the plastic tube. It is precisely for the use of an energy-saving lamp, and even better - LED. In any case, at first it is worth assessing how much the lamp is heated with long work.
The most time-consuming case in the manufacture of the lamp - cutting the pattern on the pipe I stopped on a geometric ornament, which represents the irregular triangles and trapezes, chaoticly located at the entire height of the pipe, excluding the area at the base of about 200 mm long. I left a small solid plot and from above.
The process of manufacturing "lampshar" of the luminous tower in my performance looks like this. Arbitrarily stick the strips of the tape, guided only by your imagination - there is no system here. If I like everything, we take into the hands of an electric service with a disk cutter and patiently, one after another cut out the unclosed PVC pipes. It is best to use a large diameter disk: it is more convenient to them, and the edge will be more even. This work is very dusty, so take care of your own security - use safety glasses and a respiratory mask.
Cutting all the elements, we swather the isolent and we clean the uneven edges of the cuts with sandpaper. We collect the lamp and turn it on: Beauty, and only!
Perhaps someone will say that the light source below, at the base - it is incorrect, they say, and it is better to use a luminescent lamp tube installed throughout the height of the lamp. I will say this: this is a matter of taste! For the sake of the experiment, I winched the LED tape on the tube of a small diameter and placed it inside the lamp - the result did not satisfy me at all. Much pretty, in my opinion, when the glow is weakened upwards: more romantic is created atmosphere in a native room.
It is also believed that the foundation had to make it colder. By gluing, for example, below the heavy metal washer. With this criticism, I will agree, probably, although I have never fallen a pipe. But if we are afraid, then in one way or another weight is tightened.
So, the lamp works and copes with its tasks. But it is easy to do even unusual. On sale now there are LED light bulbs with RGB illumination and a Bluetooth speaker (you can order them and in Chinese online stores). It is just 95 mm diameter, that is, it is almost perfect to the PVC pipe. The lamp control is carried out by a remote control. Thus, I got a spectacular Bluetooth column with color backlit. The luminous tower perfectly fit into the room interior. In the evening with her very cozy!
