I do not know who, how, and I have a new year, will certainly be associated with candles. Not counting the Christmas tree and oranges, of course. Well, where the candles are there and the candlesticks must be certainly. Unusual, fabulous, like a holiday itself.
I suggest today to talk about how and from what you can build unusual and elegant New Year candlesticks. I present my selection of ideas and hope that you will complement it.
1. Glass - simple but elegant
The most simple version is for connoisseurs of minimalism and for those who have just little time. We take the beautiful glass dishes: glasses, vases, wine glasses and the like. If there are the same (in color, form) - wonderful. No - nothing terrible, the main thing is to compose beautifully and place what is available.
We put the candles in these containers (without forgetting to pre-drop on the bottom of a little wax so that the candle is reliably "stuck") - and ready! It remains to arrange improvised candlesticks in the interior or place on the festive table.
2. Glass, but more comprehensive - with trim
Beautiful glassware at hand did not turn out, but there are many small jars? Great! We decorate the container outside, turning banal cans into unusual candlesticks. The braid is suitable, lace, paper - any material that transmits light. If we use paper, you can cut any patterns or ornaments on it.
Wrap banks with selected material and fix it (for example, scotch, ribbons or ropes).
Attention! It is desirable that your decorations do not reach the upper edge of the tank and, more and more so, did not oppose them: Remember that inside the can there will be a candle fire, and any contact with paper or cloth faces fire.3. Gingerbread houses, asterisks, Christmas trees ...
Hosts who love the oven, there is where to turn around! How do you like the candlestick cookie? Or homekeeper? Or maybe your talents will make a real gingerbread house, in the windows of which the light beats from the candle standing inside?
Inticiously decorated with icing, such candlesticks will definitely turn out to be the focus of your guests! True, I would not give a candle for a long time to burn here - not to dig a tasty stand wax. What do you think?
4. Twigs, sticks, lamps ...
If you meet the new year in the country, you will probably have a brushwood or maybe the branches remaining from trimming shrubs and trees. Collect a small knitting ( important: certainly achieved sustainable shape, so that in a responsible moment all this building along with burning candles does not turn over!), Decorate it to your liking: fruit, ribbons, New Year's toys.
And then install the candles - it is desirable to use additional metal supports (for example, from an old candlestick or, to an extreme case cut from a canning can. Candles I would use low and sustainable in such composition.
And I like the candlesticks from the lane. A rather wide is covered horizontally, and on top of it hollow out the deepening to install the candles. Better (safer!) - Tea in metal sleeves. Registration - to taste.
5. Coniferous, New Year
Coniferous Christmas wreaths and compositions as candlesticks are very elegant and newly year. True, from the point of view of fire safety, this idea, like the previous, criticism does not withstand ... But beautiful!
I think here you can make a compromise: lit candles to keep not long, so that they do not have to melt, but the composition itself to use more like decoration, scenery. And, of course, in no case leave the last minute candles in such candlesticks unattended!
6. Orange candlesticks
The candlestick from the zest of orange, in my opinion, is still safer. And his fragrance creates a New Year's mood at all worse than the smell of needles. Moreover, options are possible.
You can do as in the photo: Gently remove the flesh of an orange from its peel, cut in it patterns and insert a candle inside the received candlestick. And also ...
- You can use halves of a fruit (I also reset the slices of the peel) as the basis for the homemade candle;
- can be wrapped with a strip of orange (or lemon) the base of the thick candle installed on a small stand;
- You can fix the candles on the dried slices of orange ...
Of course, there are other ideas of using mandarins and oranges in the New Year decor. And how do you "fruit" idea for a candlestick?
7. Floating candles
This option is good not only for the new year. Including with its fireproof. We take any wide flat container, fill with water, we lower floating candles into it, put on the table.
Homemade floating candles (if not found ready) can be made it possible using shells from walnuts. And the capacity is outside decorated with christmas decorations and tinsel.
8. Closer to nature
I liked this idea with my simplicity and idleness. There is no pathos in it and, perhaps, it will seem to someone boring, not too festive ... Well, the problem is solved simply: add bright bunches of berries of Ryabina or slightly sprinkle the bumps of golden paint from the canister - here are the festive strokes.
But in fact, the whole thing is for which interior we choose the decorations: in a simple summer cottage or rustic house, this option, I think it will look quite organically.
9. From tin can
Idea for masters for all hands. If you know how to work with the metal - take it into service! The pattern can be cut any, paint the candlestick bank to your taste.
The only thing that I will say on experience (I have a glass candlestick-flashlight with a handle from above): When the candle burns, it is better not to take on the metal handle - hot! Accordingly, I would not hang such a decoration on the Christmas tree too - risky.
10. Beads, Coffee Beans and Other Decor
But this is an idea for appliqué lovers. Not quite a candlestick, but still ... firmly fix a thick candle on any stable glass or metal stand (for some reason a plain can be immediately comes to mind) and decorate its base (and the stand too) with all sorts of small objects at its discretion.
I, like an avid coffeeman, a candle with the "coffee" finish accounted for a very taste, and you?
