Greetings all the self-keys and those who just looked at the guests to Selfkin. In your garage or workshop, several unnecessary bicycle wheels accumulated, and you do not know how to use them, do not rush to send them into scrap metal. I propose to take note of one author's idea for the manufacture of an unusual chairs. I do not know what was guided by the author of this self-made, but rather original, in my opinion.
Materials:
- 5 bicycle wheels (rims with knitting needles);- threaded stud with a length of 1 m with a diameter of 10 mm;
- Rope with a diameter of 5 mm (thick);
- plastic clamps;
- bolts, washers and nuts of different diameters and length;
- Metal corners.
Instruments:
- drill;
- metal hacksaw;
- spanners.
Step 1.
At first the author removed the needles from three rims. Using plastic clamps, in two rims secured the rope in the form of a grid. In the future, it will be the seat and the back of the future chair.
Step 2.
The author then prepared a third wheel without spokes. It is necessary for connecting the seat with the back and fastening the supports. I installed in a drill drill with a diameter of 10 mm and drilled in the rim two holes from under the spokes opposite each other. Then, in the latter installed a threaded pin.
Step 3.
After installation, the author rigidly fixed the heap with nuts.
Step 4.
At this stage, the author removed the plugs from the carriages of the two remaining wheels (with the needles).
Step 5.
Now you need to secure these wheels (this will be supports) on the basis. For this, the author simply rushed them to protruding from the base of the ends of studs.
Step 6.
The author did not cut the extra part of the studs, but closed them as an asterisk, fixing them on the hairpins with cap nuts. But a part of the hairpin located inside the base the author drank, otherwise it will be inconvenient to sit on the chair.
Step 7.
It is time to connect the seats prepared earlier and the back with the base. To this end, the author abuser holes from the spokes. Then connected all the details using all the same bolts with nuts, as well as plastic clamps.
Step 8.
For stability, the author in the support wheels installed the bolts so that when installing the chair they restrained and did not give them to swing.
Step 9.
For safety, all the protruding ends of the bolts, the author closed with cap nuts.
Step 10.
For more reliable stability to the base behind the back, the author attached two metal stubborn corners.
