Once again, visiting Paris, I decided to take a walk along the streets of Montmartre. Closer to the evening, the charter stopped with an inconspicuous cozy house, on the facade of which the sun's clock was depicted. They are very modest in the manufacture and "polished" from time to time they, nevertheless, at this sunny evening it was regularly shown.
Passing the old man, seeing my interest, stopped and began to tell the story. This house in 1810 was donated by Napoleon to his historist who followed him everywhere, recording and singing his feats. At that time, this place was a distant suburbs, and the population diluted pets, chickens and roosters. Every morning at 4 o'clock the owner of the house woke up by the evil from the ringing, the throat neighbor's rooster. So it lasted for a very long time, but when the patience of the owner burst, he caught a gorust rooster with soup from him and invited a neighbor for lunch.
In memory of this joyful event, an inscription appeared on the sunny clock: "There will be 4 and you will sleep," and the owner finally slept.
Repairing the facade of the country house, remembered this story and decided the space under the second floor window to appease as a sun hour.
The "dial" of future hours is made in the form of a panel from ordinary tile with a border on a brickwork background.
To pre-definition of the location of the initial and ultimate digit, the dial was set by a conventional welding electrode of the shadow from which the beginning and end of the daylight on the southern wall of the house
. Made from forged strip 40x4mm. The arrow is a pointer.
I installed it in place of the temporary electrode.
Noted the pencil the hourly position of the shade from the pointer arrows.
Bulgarian with a diamond disk made engraving on inflicted pencil risks.
The resulting slots flooded with black nitroemal.
I installed the numbers on the panel dial using double-sided tape.
Now working in the garden or garden can always be determined with an accuracy of up to 10 minutes. And just it turned out beautifully, as an element of the house design, it seems to me.

No roosters at my neighbors, so I wake up sleeping and kind.
