By making this lamp I wanted to repeat my past project, in which I did a night light in the form of a skyscraper from a veneer.
I really liked this night light, but the veneer was short enough, and the lamp turned out to be small in size. Therefore, this time I decided to make a lamp of corrugated cardboard.
What I like most of all in this lamp - you can do it very quickly, I have left only one evening! Plus, it looks spectacular.
Step 1: Materials and Tools
We need:
- Fat corrugated cardboard. I used three-layer cardboard, approximately 1.5 cm in thickness
- PVA or hot glue
- Pencil
- LED lamp
The LED lamp does not heat the cardboard, which means the lamp will fireproof.
Step 2: Cut Cardboard
At first I cut the cardboard on 64 strips 1.5 cm wide and 18 cm long. With such dimensions, the lamp will be height at 27.5 cm.
To make the top of the lamp, we will need another 4 small strips with dimensions 1.5 by 12.5 cm.
Perhaps this is the longest and tedious stage. Although someone can find it relaxing and even meditative :)
Step 3: Collect cardboard
From the cardboard strips you need to make squares. In places of connection, cardboard strips glue each other on PVA or hot glue.
You need to make squares from all strips that we cut earlier.
We give glue to dry.
As a result, we will have 16 large squares, and one small.
In one of the squares you need to make a hole, about two layers of cardboard (see photo). Cables will be skipped through it, and this square will be at the bottom of the lamp.
Step 4: Make the base of the lamp
The base of the luminaire is made from a square piece of cardboard, in the center of which another square is cut for the lamp cartridge.
Base dimensions: 16.5 at 16.5 cm.
Generously smear on the side of the base glue, and insert into one of the squares.
Step 5: Collect the lamp
A cardboard square with a hole for a lamp, made on the last step, glue over a square with a hole for wires. And then glue all other squares, layer behind the layer to the top.
Step 6: Connect the lamp
We establish a LED lamp, sell the wires, and voila, the lamp is ready!
Once again I emphasize the importance of using the LED lamp. It does not heat the cardboard, which means the lamp will turn out to be fireproof.
