Zhostovsky fishery originated at the beginning of the XIX century, when the villages of the former Troitskaya volost (now Mytishchi district of the Moscow Region) arose workshops on the manufacture of painted lacquered products from Papier-Masha.
The emergence of the Zhostovsky tray is associated with the name of the Vishnyakov brothers. Starting from the 30s of the XIX century, the production of original products in surrounding villages has increased significantly.
