This is a way to quickly manufacture base blocks that are composed of 2 rectangular triangles, I want to show you today.
Very often in the schemes or literature you can see the following instructions for creating such a block:
Here you need to be attentive and, before getting involved in this adventure, to start sewing along such instructions, it would be nice to calculate the number of identical blocks. Or estimate whether each block is really unique, and how many colors are involved in the composition. To preserve, so to speak, physical and psychological health itself, families and others.
So, it may well find that identical blocks are no less, or their number of multiple 8.
So what prevents us from optimizing the process?
So, we will need:
- 2 large squares of contrasting colors.

The side of the large square is 2 sizes of the base unit and 4 allowances on the seams. I have a large square 22 cm, the allowance of 0.5 cm. So the block will turn out 22- (0.5x4) divided by two, that is, 10 cm is the size of the side of the finished block.
Blacks are diagonally from angle into an angle on the wrong side of the fabric. It's important which of the selected, most importantly, so that you can be clearly visible and folded alone one square to another.
We rock plumps so as not to shift, and forward to the typewriter.
The machine is cleaned, lubricated, the needle is fresh stand, we are not masochists, yes?
It is convenient to start sewing from a small piece, so that the corner of the big square machine does not burn the machine.
As usual, linear along the diagonals, with an equal indentation throughout the work. This is perhaps one of the most important rules in patchwork sewing. But it is possible and without marking, using a ruler and rug make 4 cuts. I have a line for triangles. We still cut along the lines on the diagonals and in half each way. If the square suddenly twisted, flather.

Well, then on the scenario: we put the sole of the iron on the seam, we open the dark side up, put the sole on the finished block. How cool down - you can collect mosaic on the sketch.
