If you are sewing, then you probably have a lot of sewing accessories and tools that need to be stored somewhere. In this article we will tell how to make an organizer for sewing supplies. In such an organizer, you can store scissors, pins, meters and other things you need, while it will look good on the wall of your workshop or next to the workplace.
For the manufacture of an organizer for sewing supplies, you will need:
- Flashing for embroidery, with a diameter of about 25 cm
- Fabric for the base (in our case, turquoise)
- Seated batting and felt, size 30 × 35 cm
- Fabric for pockets (gray), 30 × 10 cm
- 30-centimeter magnetic tape 1 cm wide (you can buy in the stationery store)
- chalk or special marker for marking fabric
- Fabric glue
- Iron and ironing board

How to make a sewing organizer
Place the cloth for the base on top of batting. From above, place the hoops and outline around the marker.
Felt cut the circle, exactly by the outer diameter of the poles. Post down this workpiece aside.
Take a cloth for pockets. Turn one long edge of approximately 7 mm, join it with an iron. Then make another bend so that the untreated edge is inside. Please force the edge on the sewing machine.
Focusing on the marking applied to the fabric, evenly distribute the sewing accessories and tools in width. Between them insert along the pin to note where the edges of the pockets will be held.
To make pockets, step up along the pin, starts from above and moving down the markup line. Cut an extra fabric so that there is a few centimeters around the markup line.
Take a strip of yellow fabric and fold it twice. Raw edges wrap inside.
Put the magnetic tape inside the folded strip.
Fold the yellow strip so that the magnetic tape was securely fixed inside. Stop along both edges.
Note : In order for the magnet does not get under the sewing machine's paw, during operation it will have to shift a little, or pull out from the pocket, and then insert again.
Align the magnetic tape, install it in the center.
Loosen the screw and remove the outer ring of the hoops. Place the workpiece over a smaller ring and press the big one. Align and stretch the workpiece, tighten the screws of the hoops.
Turn the hoops and cut the fabric sticking out of them.
From the reverse side, glue the billet from the felt, cut at the very beginning. To do this, you can use hot glue.
Place sewing supplies and tools in pockets. Pins and needles Lock on a magnetic tape.
