Ebru is special art. It fascinates not only with its amicing patterns, but also the process itself: it is very interesting to look at how circles appear on the water, then lines and multi-colored patterns! Here is such a wonderful handkerchief (or rather, a thing similar to him, because it is impossible to immediately repeat the product in Ebru) you can make it yourself, having learned this technique.
In order to paint in Ebru technique, you will need to take: a white scarf cloth (silk, cotton - something natural and thin), wide capacity (in size not less than the scarker itself), alum, water, water thickener (It may be natural or synthetic, from the store), paper towels, a large sheet of paper, a culinary whisk, brushes of different sizes, comb (you can do without it). You will also need a small container for mixing ingredients.
How to paint a scarf in Ebru technique? Work description.
To begin with, you need to dissolve alum in water. To do this, pour into a bucket or other similar capacity (best - plastic) ¼ cup of quasans and fill their 1 l warm boiled water. Slowly mix all the wedge.
Take the cloth and immerse it into the solution. Then remove the fabric from the solution, dry (best - in a natural way, waving on the rope) and endure the iron. The fabric processing procedure is needed so that it easily lay the drawing, which you later create on the water.
The solution in which the fabric was soaked, you can pour into another ass (if you plan to use it during the day). Well, in the bucket you can breed the thickener for water. It is better to use the instruction written on the thickener packaging: stir it with water. Then leave this solution for several hours (up to 5) so that it is fill.
In the container cooked for the color of the fabric, pour the solution with the thickener.
Instruct the paints needed to apply ornament on the handkerchief, in separate jars or cups.
When pouring a solution into a container, bubbles interfering in it can form a quality drawing on the fabric. In order to eliminate bubbles, place the bottom of the paper sheet container.
Then carefully remove the paper from the water: if there are bubbles in it, they stick to the paper and eliminate with it.
The solution (or rather - thickened water) is ready for drawing!
The drawing in the technique of EBRU is applied to the water with brushes. Take a brush and drip on the water of any paint. You will see that the drop slowly spreads on the water, creating a circle. Make a lot of droplets over the entire water surface in the container. Add other colors: Also drip to the surface of the liquid with paints.
