This is my way to create straps. Perhaps other masters make them in their own way.

1. Suppose we need to make a shoulder strap for a clutch or bags. As a rule, such belts must be adjustable in length. When I see that a bag of a fixed length belt, then for me it is unprofessional. We make individual things, but about such little things as the growth of the customer did not think. Another thing, if the length is stipulated with the customer in advance. Length adjustment can be carried out in two ways. Due to the bar with the middle crossbar. But then the length of the belt should be big and solid.
The second way, with a buckle with a sleeper. Then the belt can consist of 2 parts.

The belt parts should not be equal, otherwise the buckle will turn out to be exactly on the shoulder, which is very uncomfortable when wearing.
Cut the skin strip of the desired length. As a rule, these are two parts 70 cm and 35 cm.
With the width, I do this. Suppose I need a belt 2 cm wide in the finished form. Strip I cut off the width 2, 5 cm.
We definitely use the seal. It may be rigid adhesive, can be lentil. The width of this strip is 1.5 cm. Stick it on the skin strip.
Why are all such tricks in millimeters?
When we cut the belt, the strip of the sealant should not pass in the place of the line and, even more so, act in the belt slice.
2. Then we lubricate glue and glue to a piece of leather solid. Since our band has been strengthened, it will not be drawn and, accordingly, stacked quite smoothly.
I let me dry the night. I do not hurry and count so that all the belts are sicking at the end of the working day.
3. In the morning, I begin to form our straps. Now the main thing is to take a sharp cutter and cut off the extra millimeters from both edges. To cut across two layers of the skin. Then he will be smooth.
I believe that if you have an open slice from one edge, it should be from another. Just folded strip of skin in half with one cut does not suit me. Well, it's me :)
4. Then I form the edge. This is also important. I do not like rectangular edges. Why? Well, just do not like. Therefore, I use the chisel to roundate. Just she, too, will not smoothly cut down. The cardboard templates for a different width. First, first, the cardboard pattern, but I put the chisel to him and cut off. By the way, the chisel took the master at our fair. Excellent quality, beautiful metal.
5. To make a beautiful seam on the roundabout, it is important that the rounding stitch begins at the same level, so I put the mark with a seer.
At these points will begin roundings.
6. I pull the straps on the column machine. Just her roller allows me to see where the line passes and allows you to do as close as possible to the edge. In addition, on it, I rejuvenate collars. This is just the products that get into the hands immediately give your carelessness. Therefore, I, too, now at a column. You can easily use the usual machine. But to do it extremely neat, focusing on the paw of the car.
For me, the front side is also important, and the reverse side of the line. When both leather layers are cut in the same plane, your line does not slide, even if you are rocked very close to the edge.

8. Then I take a miracle powder. Called SMS. For processing the edge of the skin. As a rule, it is used for the skin of plant tack. But I use it for a haberdashery. I dilute water and polishing the edges of the cuts. I put the resulting gel with a straight finger and rub. This means I use more often than the paint for drilling of the skin. It allows you to leave the cut open, but as if polishes it and protects him from the fact that it will be frightened.
Excessive "bullying" on Bakhtrtima as it were. After drying, the cut remains transparent and protected. Here the cut from this holder also processed SMS.
9. Now proceed to the fasteners.
I also do not show an excessive hurry. I'm annoyed crookedly planted holnitenes.
I do not immediately make two holes at once. I just do not risk the work done.
It is not necessary to make fittings on all straps. The first, with breakdown holes, can serve you as a template for the rest. If you are all straps with equally curved tails.
Holnitane use double. And the part that the hat is on the leg, put on the front side. Just a hat - goes to the wrong one. This makes it possible to avoid on the front side of the wire of the hats when the leg is frozen when installed.
Then I put a buckle on a small part of the strap. In order for the whine in the buckle "walked" freely I use the oval missile. There are also such missiles at the fair. But when it is not absent, you can break through two holes at a distance of 0.5 cm and cut the middle of the holes. There is a smooth oval hole.
On another part of the belt we break through the hole to adjust the length. Do not forget to check whether your whinge is included in the luber or block that will close the hole.
