The artist Andrei Cherkasov was born in Moscow in 1957, in 1982 he graduated from the Moscow Art Institute. V.I. Surikova (Professor's workshop Yu.K. Korolev). About 15 years worked in monumental-decorative art, creating projects of decoration of buildings in Moscow, Jurmala, Tynda, Yelets - different cities and weights of the big and seemed to be an unrealistic Soviet Union. But the Union, as well as the customers, did not, and before Andrey, the question arose: "What to do?". Then a happy case and led him to the workshop of small porcelain plastics. For several years of experiments with this, the material that turned out to be gracious for the artist led to the fact that Cherkasov managed to create his own unique world of porcelain miniatures.
All sketches, ideas, painting drawing - are invented by the author on each new item again, they are not compiled and not repeated, and in this regard - completely exclusive. Production of paints, painting, all technical work on the manufacture of forms, casting, glazing and burning, etc., as well as subsequent photographic work and accompanying texts - are performed personally and on their own ideas.
