There is no technique more reliable than that that is done in the USSR, if, of course, it still works. The Soviet refrigerator "Minsk" in the country older than my student daughter. And everything would only look like it became unprenetored and battered. So I decided to repaint it!
In the dashing nineties, someone from famous artists earned, painting refrigerators to order. Sorry, I will not remember the surname now. When bourgeois household appliances appear after a total deficit, the idea of painting the old refrigerator seemed meaningless.
But one story convinced me in the opposite. Last year, the distant relative handed over the apartment. She did not want to buy a new refrigerator, and the old one was very terrible. She did not think long and painted him with "Serebryanka." It turned out perfectly! Now the idea of refrigerated the old refrigerator "Minsk" on the dacha began to pursue me. I wanted him to be red, like the flag of the USSR.
I began to study the question, I looked at a few master classes. In many of these, the process of repainting was sophisticated: an old coating was etched, a rust was shot long, then the unit was covered with primer. But my refrigerator was not in such a deplorable state, so for the beginning we thoroughly wash it with the most core "domain."
Long thought, where and what to paint. On the street, the rain goes almost every day, there is no carport for the country. I would ideally paint it in Saraj, but there is no place there. There was only a veranda: and you will not find yourself in the rain, and the paint will go to the smaller.
To work, I chose a universal enamel from VIXEN, laid by RAL. In my opinion, only an aerosol spray can give a beautiful, smooth surface. You will not achieve a brush or roller of such an effect.
I needed
- Enamel universal red - 3 cylinders
- Enamel Universal White - 1 Cylinder
- Acetone
- Grinder with shallow skin
- Malyan Scotch
- Respirator and glasses for individual protection
She covered the floor with the newspapers on the far veranda, dragged there the refrigerator and began to shock it with painting scotch, to close the places that did not have to be painted in red. In this way rubber gaskets, handle and top edging.
Before painting the surface must be prepared. The refrigerator was not rusty, and the paint almost did not tear, so I decided to do without a stage of priming.
Then she put a respirator and tried to paint one wall of the refrigerator. I tried to keep a balloon of 20 cm from the surface and hold the jet perpendicularly.
The first layer struck quite thin, but it is normal, so it is necessary according to the technology. For high-quality coverage, at least 2 layers of enamel are needed.
At first I was afraid that there would be drums, but just need to be in a hurry and put the paint with thin layers. If you do everything right, the universal enamel Vixen behaves just fine: it is shelled, the color gives a deep with optimal consumption.
Now it was necessary to spend white stripes. The technology is extremely simple - all the red stuff with painting scotch, we leave the place that you need to cover white.
The bands painted quickly, in two receptions. On a day, left the fridge at rest so that the paint was guaranteed.
What is surprising, in the rest of the premises of the country house, paint did not smell. When I sprayed the last red layer and closed the door to the veranda, I asked the mother-in-law: "The paint smells very much?"
She replied that he feels a light smell of melon. Apparently, joked.
I also want to warn from one mistake. At first I tried to hold a clival of 30 cm from the surface, but there was a lot of paint by and settled on the newspapers - the surface was not very intense. With a distance of about 15-20 cm, the paint on the object fell more, but it was necessary to follow the subtlety of the layer. Output one - need skill. Practice first on the side of the refrigerator, which will not be visible. And I began to respect the craftsmen making beautiful graffiti!
Another day later the doors ends. Skill already felt!
After a couple of days, the refrigerator was put on a permanent place, to the kitchen, in the corner. After switching on, the freezer quickly scored -24 ° C. Looks like after painting red and white began to frow better!
In Moscow, there are firms that paint refrigerators to order. Once there is a demand, there is also a sentence. That's just high-quality airbrushing on this beloved object of the kitchen life will cost more than a new refrigerator: the price tag starts with 10,000 rubles.
