Agree that the floor of firewood sounds rather strange, but, as it turned out, there is a special technology that has been used for quite a long time. Previously, thus covered the floors in old cottages, however, now it becomes the global trend, as they say, everything new is well forgotten old.
Before starting, go to the forest and stock raw materials - dry trees trunks. If necessary - get permission to harvest wood.
Split wood on thin discs and sand surface on both sides.
Clean the floor from the old coating and start laying out the blanks on it.
During the laying, try to customize the circles to each other tightly, wide gaps between the discs of large diameter, fill in small fragments.
When the laying is finished, each circle is glued to the floor.
After drying the glue, the wooden coating must be aligned, and polished to smoothness with a grinding machine.
Small gaps between wooden parts are filled with grout.
After everything is properly laid, and the grout dried, cover the floor with a thin layer of polyurethane to secure the grout in the seams.
The coating can be applied in 2-3 layers to give the surface smoothness and shine.
