Glass vase transformation with stained glass

A sufficient number of various master classes is written on stained painting. So I decided to share my experience with those who want to join this kind of creativity. It is not easy to engage in stained painting. Time flies imperceptibly, and from the hands of masters there are exceptional creations who please their creators and owners for many years.

The topic for a master class I chose the painting of a common glass vase from the IKEA store. Vase is simple, out of transparent glass, unremarkable. But in a few hours it will turn into a unique interior decoration.

The degree of complexity of the master class: low. This means that anyone can repeat my experience and create your masterpiece, having only tools, materials and a sufficient amount of time and patience. Special skills do not need, just follow the instructions.

Prepare tools and materials:

  1. Glass blank vase. I took a small and inexpensive billet from thick glass with four edges (IKEA store).
  2. Stained glass paints on aquatic or organic basis. Basic base colors. I use french stained paints.
  3. Acrylic contour. Color: black pearl. Production: Tair.
  4. Alcohol for cleaning and degreasing glass.
  5. A brush or wooden wand (you can use toothpick).
  6. Rubber gloves to protect and clean hands (optional).
  7. Dry napkins.
  8. Cotton swabs.

If everything is ready, then proceed.

First, wipe the glass so that it becomes clean and dry. To apply a drawing, I did not use any stencils. Drawing leaves arbitrarily. The drawing is similar to scales in a shishke, who will see what. If you are not sure of your skill and fantasy, then the drawing can be transferred to the glass using the copy. But I am rarely using this method, since non-stuck black divorces remain from the copy-across, which are later difficult (but perhaps) delete. Do not be afraid to experiment.

Painting glass

I have a four-face vase. The verges are scratched consistently with considerable intervals. You need to give a contour on every face to dry well in order to go to the next.

I have a little refreshing some leaflets in the picture, add straight and wavy lines. Sheets chose arbitrarily. But you can do without it.

Decor

Stained glass paints

This is such a vase.

I have decorated 2 sides. It took 4 hours. On the hour to draw the contours of each side and on the oops on drying. This master class is simple, but long, since each side you need to give time to dry (both the contour, so then paints).

Now you can proceed to creating a color solution. I adhere to my own recommendations and sequences in your work: First, paint the mosaic sectors with one selected color. I started with yellow.

Acrylic contours

With yellow perfectly combined purple color. Let such petals be more than yellow, but they must be near Yellow. So the color solution of the picture will be harmonious.

The color scheme next to the purple color always goes red. Add it.

Now you can add warm shades: bright and pale orange colors. As you can see, the colors need not very much, but an interesting effect.

So that the vase has become also brighter, I used three shades of green paint: light green, swamp green and turkish green.

That's so beautiful colors playing the sun.

When one side is painted, you need to leave it for drying. I waited a little, for the next side, then took up the second side. The principle of coloring is the same. We alternate colors. For the convenience of applying paint, you can use a brush or thin wooden wand, which is more convenient. Just make a wand in the paint, carrying it on the glass surface.

And here is the finished job.

I hope the master class will be useful and will prompt you to active creative actions. Good luck.
