"Children's guys": Mastery cotton christmas toys

Master class on cotton Christmas tree toy. These toys are made in the old technique "Wat + Cleaster", with the application of various tricks. I hope that this information will inspire you to make your unique toys that will delight you and your children for many years.

So, begin.

To work, we will need the following materials and tools:

1. Wool (cotton, homogeneous).

2. Wire (I have knitting from a construction store, but it's better to even a fond and easier, we will need for a "skeleton" of the frame).

3. Potato starch.

4. PVA.

5. Foil (ordinary, which only you can find. I have for cooking).

6. Stacks (very comfortable with balls, rounded, sharp. You will need for small parts, liquefit, mittens, cuffs ...).

7. Shilo.

8. Watercolor paints.

9. Acrylic paints.

10. Glitter (sequins) dry white.

11. Varnish in the balcony. (fit hair polish).

12. Rope (for gold or silver loops).

13. Threads (ordinary cotton white or bright threads).

14. Long needle. It will take to put the rope in the finished toy. (I have a set of needles for toys).

15. Brushes (different sizes, for painting).

Here, perhaps, all the materials. I want to note that everything is quite budgetary, and you will not be difficult to find it all and acquire.

I will make a New Year's "company" on the Christmas tree.

We take a wire and start to twist the "skeletons" from it.

On one main twist leg, hands, ears. It should turn out something like this:

Further, we begin to give volume with foil, and add the movement to our figures.

Already at this stage, the outlines of future toys are visible. In this case, it is a bunny.

Foils do not regret how to wind all parts, handles, legs, ears. It should close the wire, and to lay down very tightly (fermenting, that would not be left too). And do not forget to form a pose of each toy (bending the handles, legs, or maybe tilt your head).

Now we begin to increase the "muscle mass", the volume, by applying pieces of wool, and wind (fix) with white threads. Immediately, it is convenient for me to add a pipe for a tail. Like this:

At this stage, I added the missing length on my arms (wire).

And again wrapped with cotton and threads fix it.

At this stage, it is not necessary to hurry, because, the more carefully the form will be worked out, the easier it will work with wet cotton. Therefore, we look again, and add if something is still required. Threads either do not regret too.

By the same principle we make a bunny and other guys.

And the rest of the billets. At this stage, you can still attract the pose, turning the head, or rigging handles. From the top row from left to right: bunny, chanterelle, belch, bunny and three cockerel.

Now we go to the kitchen Cooking Cleeter. We will need: water, starch potato, PVA (not much).

I do everything on the eye :) Pour water, heating. In the meantime, a small number of starch (1-2 tbsp) is divorced in cold water, and add to our hot water. Further cook constantly stirring like ordinary kissel. It should not be very thick, but not liquid. If you see that it is very thick - add water. Then we cool to the warm state, add a bit of PVA and proceed to work. (My advice is not very cooling strongly, because With a cold Cleeister, it is not very pleasant to work. And many more use a brush to apply Clays onto cotton. It is comfortable for my hands, and not a tassel, but this is how convenient.

At first I smeared all the billers, then applied small pieces of cotton wool and again hobster over each new piece. And smooth, smooth, drive out all the air.

Dry wool very sticks to the hands. It is just necessary to get used to it :) and we work on the face, we make a spike stacks, a stack with a ball with a ball of sockets. We add tolets on the back of the head, on the tummy, on the heel. As long as you are pleased with the result. The occupation is very fascinating!

We send to dry. Just on the slope (not on the battery!), And for example, on the windowsill. By the same principle, we make other billets.

In the evening I won all the blanks, and put them on to be dried but the night. The next day proceed to the excavation of parts (collars, skirts, cuffs, etc.) so the kids look like this stage.

And here is already elegant and with a collar! After all the children are dressed and decorated, we send them again to dry.

The next day everyone dried up and ready to "revive". Now you can start painting.

Since the wool when drying, it becomes wrinkled, and I did not insert the sheets from the plastic, they will have to slightly align and make prettier. For this, I am a few layers covered with acrylic paint.
