I finally made a normal bed

I did myself finally normal size bed, 240 per 180 centimeters. Together with the designer, said the approximate bed in the "compass", asked the designer to add to the drawing of the holes for the screeds and the like technical details, gave the drawings in the furniture workshop.

There were 12 sheets of plywood, 18 millimeters thick on the frame and a thickness of 10 millimeters on the drawers. Furniture workshop Faneru was cut on the milling machine, glued together and lacked.

I finally made a normal bed

Further already in my bedroom, I covered all the numerous legs with felt, brought the elements with screeds and tightly struck the bed to the wall. The point is now for small - make a soft headboard and find a mattress with dimensions of 240 × 180 centimeters. Please advise the place in St. Petersburg, where I will do such a mattress.

What specifically the mattress I need, I have not yet decided on, but I assume that the coconut chips will be excellent with 8 centimeters thick. However, I am ready to consider other half-west options.

Now I will take questions about the beds that you probably want to ask me:

W.: Why didn't you buy a finished bed in IKEA?

Oh: Because IKEA confesses the ideology of Swedish jage. There are no beds longer than 200 centimeters - it is understood that people above 185 centimeters need not to stand out from the team and put up with the inconvenience delivered short bed.

Actually, this is one of the two reasons for which I IKEA I do not like. In the situation "or-or", IKEA marketers without oscillations choose savings - even if the sake of savings have to sacrifice reliability, quality, convenience and common sense.

W.: Why didn't you buy a finished bed in a furniture store?

Oh: All ready-made large beds are held in the category "Premium". And I do not need a bed from Venetian kicks glued with mucus of Milan virgins. I need an ordinary, strong and reliable bed - just a little longer than standard.

W.: Why didn't you order a turnkey bed in the furniture workshop?

About: And the meaning? The preliminary drawing of the designer with the designer in a couple of hours. The designer who placed the indentation, holes and other technicians in the drawing, took less than a thousand rubles from me.

If I came to the workshop and asked the "turnkey" product, be sure, the cheating would turn out where more than more.

I finally made a normal bed

W.: How much did the bed cost?

Oh.: So far, 70 thousand rubles: this is the cost of materials, cutting, gluing, delivery, and so on. It would be possible to make times so three cheaper if I did not do from plywood, but from LDSP, but I wanted to Faneru.

By the way, the bed has already paid off. Imagine the furniture "wall" from the floor to the ceiling of two meters long. Presented? Here is in my bed (in six large boxes and in a huge central office) approximately so much. Thus, the presence of bed saves me not only the closet, but also those two square meters of the square, which would occupy a wardrobe with open doors.

How much are two square meters of living space in St. Petersburg, I think it is not necessary to explain. So in the end, I still in the plus.

I finally made a normal bed

W.: What is this central office?

Oh .: This is a very important compartment: the only place in my apartment, where you can comfortably store "Longs", one or two meters long. Christmas tree, old rod from rod, metal level, long roll paper roll, wooden pole and special memorable cardboard box.

Previously, it was necessary to break all these things under the cuisine base, on the cabinets and in the same way as uncomfortable places. Now they all lie in the central compartment and please my eye with their absence.

You ask how will I get access to this compartment? I'll tell you. I will move the mattress and remove the two covers, holding the penny knobs. The entire compartment opening procedure is unlikely to take more than two or three minutes.

W.: Why in the central compartment ribbed bottom?

Oh.: This is my mistake, do not do so. I assumed that in the resulting boxes there will be a different small bed (type pancakes from the bar), and the long periods will lie on top. It turned out however that I practically don't have small things that stick out from the bottom of the roof only interfere. If I did the second bed, I would have designed the bottom of the central compartment flat.

W.: What will the headboard look like?

Oh.: I think it will be a rectangular piece of plywood 120 × 180 centimeters. I will ask my furniture makers to climb him with something soft and hang on the wall on the fastenings in the form of a torn Benin.

The fasteners will be eight, because the wall is not very smooth, and the headboard should fit tightly to it.

W.: How did you manage to make a bed in an apartment?

Oh: without any tricks. In my plan, the frame of the bed consisted of eight strong drawers, which I had to bage with each other furniture tie.

In the reality of the parts it turned out even more - something I had to be screwed into the screws already in place. The next time I will design something similar, I will pay more attention to the assembly instructions to reduce the number of errors.

W: A lot had problems?

Oh.: In general, everything went smoothly, but now you have a few tips:

1. First purchase the material, then make final drawings. I expected that I would have plywood sheets 1525 × 1525, and in reality it turned out only 1200 × 2400. If I had counted in advance for such a size, much would have done better and easier.

2. After purchasing the material, measure its real thickness of the caliper. In my case, Plywood was polished - not 18 millimeters, as I expected, but a little thinner. Because of this, the real sizes of the bed turned out not 2400 × 1800, but 2395 × 1800.

3. Carry the furniture will not be especially careful and in a dirty body, the hands of loaders will also be dirty. Wake up everything in advance with a stretch film, save time on cleaning parts from dirt.

4. Make sure that there are no details in the form of a rectangular letter "O": these parts for transportation will be cleaned.

5. Accessories purchased in advance. I assumed that the furniture screeds will have a diameter of 8 mm, and the holes under them provided appropriate. After the purchase it turned out that they had a diameter of 10 mm, a bunch of holes had to be taken in place.

6. Stick felt on the legs can be pretty quickly, it is a simple and pleasant occupation. We buy a kind of large rectangular plates for 50 rubles per piece, cut the stationery knife to narrow strips and glue. Much better than stupid plastic legs, which are instantly fall apart on parts under the weight of furniture.

7. Do not forget about the plinth. You will probably want to stand close to the wall - and on the wall you will probably be launched a plinth. I got out of the position, drink a quick three thick spacer, through which the bed was screwed to the wall. Spacers, by the way, can be considered on the title photography, and on the spacers, in turn, you can see the strips of felt, which is placed all the bed bottom.

W.: Why did you draw a bed in the compass?

Oh: Because I can work in it. So there are special furniture programs, but they, firstly, far from always allowing to draw parts of a complex shape, and secondly, they cost absolutely no money for a private person. The compass I caught 1500 rubles or like that, there is a special version for such as me.

W.: What are the boxes?

Oh: On the wheels, which remained from Ikeev's cardine tumb. Anticipating question: no, they do not cling to the walls. Slightly cling to sticking ties (I did not think about it), but the problem is so small that I, perhaps, I will not even try to fix it.

W.: How about laying out drawings to universal access?

Oh.: There is a couple of small mistakes that I am already lazy to catch, so I do not want to spread them into universal access. However, you can always write to me in the post office, and I will send you to you "Chernovik" in a compasary three-dimensional format.
