Watching for many years for the development of tomato plants, I came to the conclusion that in order to provide a bulk of a large amount of fruits, a powerful root system is needed.
I tried to increase it in two ways.
The first - planting seedlings is not vertically, as is usually accepted, but lying. In advance, the prepared furrow lay not only the root, but 2/3 of the stem, pre-removing from this part of the leaves. I fall asleep the soil layer at 10-12 cm.
I lay the plant strictly from the south to the north, so that it is stretching to the sun as it grows, it straightened and grew vertically. On the sword part of the stem, the roots are quickly formed, which are included in the general power system (Fig. 1). Moreover, these roots are in their size and effectiveness several times exceeding the main one.
