This small studio apartment with an area of 36 m² is a new design designer Anna Kovalchenko. Anna shared with us how to make a small apartment of stylish with a modest repair budget.
- Anna, please tell us a little about the apartment: what is its area, how many rooms are there?
The apartment is located in Vnukovo - just five minutes walk from the international airport. Its area is 36 m², including one room, a small hallway, separate bathroom and kitchen.
- What were the main problems of the apartment? When you started work, where did you start changes?
The main problem was a small area of the apartment, especially embarrassed the size of a tiny bathroom. I wanted to combine the bathroom and the toilet to at least increase it a little, but then I decided not to do this - by the wish of the customer. The ceiling was terribly uneven and low - only 250 cm. Floor, walls, the balcony was in a terrible state: there was a lot of effort to prepare an apartment to repair.
Apartment before repair
- What was the main task of this project? What is his feature?
- The apartment was intended for delivery on AirBNB: it was assumed that in the main guests there will be passengers-transtets waiting for departure, as well as the crews of the aircraft. - How did you choose the colors for this apartment?
- The owner of the apartment is a hot fan of the Scandinavian style in a classic understanding: White walls, a calm discreet color scheme. I offered two concepts to choose from: with green as an accent or in black and white gamma. The client chose a second option, calculating it more neutral and suitable for a removable apartment. Black accent walls were decorated with Swedish wallpaper of Boråstapeter, the rest of the walls are painted white paint Dulux.
For the floor, a light laminate was picked up, the most imitating natural tree, which was visually pulled out the height of the room.
- The description says that you changed the location of the furniture. It is interesting to know: how exactly and why? What has improved after the permutation?
- The room was necessary to share the bedroom and the recreation area. The double bed was delivered in a kind of niche, and the sofa with the coffee table near the window. From the cabinets decided to refuse not to clutter the space. For storage of clothes, a small chest of drawers and an outdoor hanger were put. The furniture was chosen as compact and functional as possible, mainly it was purchased in IKEA and HOFF.
In the bathroom, we made a wooden countertop to order and installed the Overhead of Melana's overlay. The tree was specially processed so that it would not deteriorate from moisture and splashes. White Metro tile on the walls visually expanded the bathroom, black and white tile on the floor echoes with wallpaper in the hallway.
- What has changed in the kitchen?
- The kitchen headset of black was purchased in Ikea, overhead shelves instead of the top cabinets made themselves from the furniture shield. The black washing machine and the refrigerator look stylish and organically fit into the space between the cabinets.
- What is the general budget of this project?
- We laid out somewhere in 1.3 million rubles, including furniture, equipment and decor.
