Even a small rug in the apartment is not only an interior decoration, its highlight, but also is of practical importance, especially if you like to walk around the house barefoot or your children are often sitting on the floor. And with the onset of cold weather, this useful thing becomes especially relevant.
Unfortunately, today any floor coverings are not suiced. Therefore, in order to save, we propose to learn how to make a braided rug with your own hands from the fabric strips and a clothesline that will add a little warm and comfort to your home. As a material, you can use both a new fabric, and old, for example, who served their T-shirts.
How to make a rug: step by step instructions
To sprinkle the rug yourself, you will need:
- 6 meters of fabric;
- Motok cotton knitted rope 6 mm × 15 m;
- scissors;
- Sewing machine with zigzag lines;
- Threads.

In general, the length of the rope and the amount of material will depend on what kind of rug you want to do. This technology allows you to add a rope by tissue at any time, and thereby increase the size of the carpet.Step 1
Cut the tissue to the same strips of 5 cm wide. We used fabrics of four different colors, but in one color scheme. So that the rug looks more harmoniously, all stripes can be made of the same tissue.
Step 2.
Wrap the end of the rope of one of the tissue strips, laying it at a low angle, as shown in the photo.
Step 3.
After you wander about 30 cm rope, proceed to sewing. Install the largest stitch length on the sewing machine and, starting from the very beginning, pull the rope with a cloth in the middle.
Step 4.
Continue little to rerupt the rope with a fabric ribbon and fasten the line. When you see that the first strip ends, leave approximately 5 cm at its end so that you can insert the next one. To do this, leave the needle in the rope so that the line does not move, put a new fabric tape on top to the edge of the previous one, then continue to wrench and scribble on. If you use different tissues, alternate strips of various colors.
Step 5.
When you reach the end of the rope and want to add another one, just put the beginning of the new rope close to the end of the previous one and continue to wrap it with cloth and shoot as usual.
Step 6.
After the entire rope is wound and stitched, set the widest zigzag line on the machine.
Step 7.
Spin the prepared tissue rope with a ring in several revolutions and, using a zigzag stitch, witching the rings among themselves. Continue adding rings and sew them until the rug does the rug.
Step 8.
When the desired carpet size will be achieved, season the end of the rope under the rug so that it is not visible, and firmly fix the line on the spot. The original braided rug is ready, it's time to find it a suitable place in your home.
