Easy way to do in a glass bottle hole of any shape

Glass bottle is an excellent base for many creative projects. It looks interesting and stylish. But, unlike plastic, cut it without professional tools, it seems very difficult ... Only not for those who are familiar with this incredible way!

You will need:

• Bottle of glass
• Soldering iron
• Marker

Step 1: Prepare for cutting

With the help of a permanent marker, make a contour of the future hole. If your project allows the free form of a slot, try to place it so that at least one side accounted for a bend of glass. So cut will be much easier than a straight surface. Secure the bottle motionless. It is most convenient to do this as shown in the photo.

Step 2: Begin to cut

In order to gently split the glass, attach a soldering iron to the beginning of the line on the bending of the bottle and hold for a few seconds. Then move the soldering iron to several millimeters. At this moment, the glass should crack. If the cracks are not formed, return the soldering iron back. Slowly move along the line, the crack on the glass should form as the soldering iron moves. If at some point the glass ceases to cut, heat the opposite edge of the crack.

Step 3: Turning Crack

Having reached the corner, carefully flip the soldering iron so that it follows the planned line. The best way to form a smooth angle is precisely in the location of the glass. In some cases, glass can crack unevenly, so you need to be prepared for the fact that the hole will have to do somewhat wider. Or just have another bottle in stock. Of course, this method of cutting is not suitable for the formation of very small holes.

Step 4: Question with corners

In some cases, when cutting perpendicular segments, the angle is formed on their own. Just work out on different bottles, and over time you will gain the right skill.

Step 5: Complete cutting

At some point, the crack can stop and do not move along the usual scheme. In some cases, two different cracks may form at the lower edge of the opening, which are not converged in one. Help the soldering iron, and, if necessary, put on the glass on the inside of the bottle, placing the knife or screwdriver in it.

Step 6: Let's get too much

Gently remove the sliced ​​part of the bottle. If you are afraid to cut down the edge of the glass, use gloves. If everything went according to the plan, it turns out to cut exactly the part that was painted initially.

Step 7: Other holes that can be made by the same method

In the same way, you can cut a bottle along into two parts. It is more difficult to cut the bottom, so the incision will have to shift a little. Try this way on bottles of various shapes and determine what you will be easier to work. When they do a hand, you can start creating an interesting object from the most beautiful bottle.
