(Translation from English)
I offered my children to make a canoe boat, and they happily agreed. And as a material, we chose Cardboard and Scotch. For 4 hours we made a solid and moisture-proof structure that we use for the third month.
Prehistory
We have our own pool, which we fill the water early in spring. But we do not swim until the water warms up to a comfortable temperature. True, the children do not explain it - they are constantly pulling to the pool.
To solve this dilemma, we built a cardboard canoe for their children so that they can play the pool and not to translate.
Materials used:
- Scotch - 3 large rolls;
- Fat two-layer cardboard - 1 sheet size 1000 × 2000 mm;
- sharp knife.
Note! Time to work occupied about 4 hours, not including drawing sketch in CAD.
Building canoe
Layout
To check the performance of our idea, first painted a small model in CAD, printed and moved the dimensions to a piece of cartons in size 27x43 cm.
Then cut out with a sharp knife and glued.
Pucked with a scale of scotch and checked on the buoyancy - the boat turned out to be stable, which was required.
Full drawing
By increasing the scale, we printed the drawings to transfer them to a cardboard sheet of 100 × 200 cm.
Production of details
Note! A two-layer cardboard sheet needs to be purchased in a construction store. The main requirement - it should not be deformed. Therefore, cardboard will not suit the old packaging.
Then, using a sharp knife, we carefully cut on the lines of the part of the boat. It is important to accurately, so as not to spoil the cardboard, because To save, all elements are very close to each other.
The resulting details will still be sealing.
Using Scotcha
To shine a tape cardboard details, we used a dispenser - a packaging device. With it, the work went much faster.
The procedure is as follows:
- We take a scotch every detail;
- connect together the bottom and sidewalls;
- glue your nose and stern;
- glue (increasing) board;
- get the whole design from above;
- Install the jumper from the cardboard and also carefully accumulate it with scotch.
Descent on water
Captain and Jung are ready to test canoe. Naturally, under the supervision of parents!
Lower the boat on the water in the pool to make sure its stability and moisture resistance.
When the tests are over, we send the crew to the ship.
Children liked such a boat very much and they gladly use it in their games for almost 3 months. With gentle handling, I think it will last until the end of the summer.
