"We do not have a house, and Soviet accounting" - such an assessment recently gave my husband to my windowsill, tightly forced room colors. I do not know why this association has arose from him, but in general I agreed with him: the old pots did not give the house of our time. The question became an edge: it was necessary to dilute the abundance of colors with some decor.
Start decided from the shelves where succulents live. A couple of years ago, a flurarium was presented to me - a glass similarity of aquarium, only not for fish, but for plants. It looks cool: a strict geometric shape, clear black faces. Here I decided to push the search for ideas. Options were different. For example, buy a pair of such flurariums or to purchase faceted porridges from concrete ... And here it is very popular with one master class on the English-language site, where the polyhedrals made of cocktail tubes. "What you need: and inexpensive, and do it yourself," I decided.
Put your hand
In the master class, according to which I studied, made a crystal form. I also decided to start with it, acting on the instructions.
For clarity, he took the tube of two colors and cut them so that it turned out 6 pcs. Each size: 15 cm, 7 cm, 5 cm and 4.5 cm.
You can collect both on a wire and on the line. I was collected on a thin line, trying to grow into each tube at least two threads and tightly pull the tubes with each other so that they hold the shape.
Collect and paint decorative flurarium
Having passed the test task, I started assembling a polyhedron flurarm. The prototype took a glass flurarium, the dimensions of the faces spied from him. My figure consists of some of several triangles, but the bottom side I made square - for stability. In addition, a small pot of succulents will easily get into the square.
This time I made the figures from the straws of the black color, and I missed the thin wire inside. I can not say that there is a colossal difference with a figurine on the fishing line, but the way it turned out more convenient in the assembly.
Despite the fact that the black construction looked very much, I still decided to paint the product. Moreover, in my plans it was to paint a galvanized pitcher - a workpiece for decorating, which I bought on the promotion to Leonardo. It cost rubles 200. I also did not forget about the colored crystal.
Painting metal and plastic without soil is a risky: with a high probability of paint just crashes. In order for the paint to lay a smooth layer and kept tightly on the surface, I decided to primitive and the pitcher, and your figures from the tubes. And the soil, and the paint chose in the form of an aerosol, it is especially convenient for painting complex and hard-to-reach elements like my polyhedra.
For a start, I wipe all the surfaces of the surface with a clean cloth with an alcohol solution to degrease them, and then applied the first layer of rexton soil. Then, waiting an hour, I covered all the second layer of soil. Universal alkyd white soil formed a matte, slightly rough coating. I really liked the effect - you could not paint further: I looked good.
But my idea was to turn a gray pitcher in gold, and plastic tubes - in a metal structure ... So I did not plan to stop and waiting for a complete drying of the soil, began to paint. For convenience, wooden sticks stuck in the old capacity from the ground from the deceased seedlings (still planned to throw away) and the pitched a diet on them. As necessary, turned the design to scrollly evenly.
For transformation, the universal metallic enamel of gold color chose - as well as the soil, Rexton firms. The manufacturer promised a spectacular metallized coating that I am pleased to and confirm: plastic just turns into the "metal" in front of the eyes!
By the way, while painted her figures, another idea came to mind. I saw the paint lay on a glass three-liter jar (it can be seen in the photo above), which served me stand. The result of such an unscheduled staining I liked so much that I decided to paint something glass. In addition, paint in the canter still remained even after the pitcher and polyhedra were painted in two layers, the paint consumption is economical.
Another workpiece came to the rescue - a glass vase-bank, which cost me just 174 rubles. I sprayed the gold paint only on the top of the jar, so that it turns out a smooth transition from a dense golden neck to an absolutely transparent glass at the bottom. For this, there was paint on the neck in two layers.
What happened
Metallic enamel contains shining particles, due to which the surface acquires a very beautiful deep shine. But most of all I like how this gold "plays" with warm light from the fire. I put a candle in a vase, and a cheap bank turned into a very cozy candlestick!
I bet on one shelf all my gold wealth, I realized that it was no longer like that of Soviet accounting. And the flowers are no longer looking with babuline, and in general it became somehow elegant. Maybe the golden can save not only the shelves with flowers?! I was very involved in the creative process and thinking that it would be more like that with my own hands.
I also liked the idea with the falseflorarium. Despite the fact that the decor of the girlfriend usually looks very cheap, in this case I can't say such a thing, it turned out beautifully.
